Where can I find this "Deck of Many Things"??

 

in the demogorgon (?) building..
When you beat that cambion with party.. if i remember correctly

The Cambion, Aesgareth, who guards the last crystal used in order to restore the Sceptre of Radiance holds the Deck of Many Things. You have to kill him in order to actually get the deck (you get: 21,000 experience, Deck of Many Things, Sceptre Gem for killing him, alone!).

Oh, I forgot. He is atthe last portal on lvl 3 in the Watcher's Keep (The demogorgon building )

Oh yes, and it's in ToB, not SoA (Unless you have ToB installed, of course).

 

Not entirely true - you can also pickpocket it from Aesgareth (you have to be exceptionally good at it, though), and IIRC, you can do that after you've already played a couple of hands with him and earned stupidly large amounts of XP.

 

'Tis true that you should get some xp first. I have never, however, tried to pickpocket it from him. I'm just not much of a pickpocketer

 

Aye, and if you want to know *how* to use the deck, I suggest that you download the "walkthrough" I wrote for it. You can find it here at SP...but I'm too lazy to find the link for you...

 

He gives it to you. You just have to be lucky.

 

The Deck of Many Things is a kind of... unfortunate inclusion, in my opinion. Just because it encourages reloads. Its like the Wand of Wonder - the sort of thing no sane adventurer should mess with

 

Bah, in my pen and paper days my group's characters wouldn't think twice about doing some crazy thing like drawing a magic card with potentially devestating random effects. These are supposed to be risk seeking adventurers, not conservative accountants.

Come to think of it, that might explain why we spent so much of our time rolling up new characters.
