Demon wraith

Is there any way to get past the demon wraith on the 3rd level? I let the succubus kiss me and I went to the broken portal and got one of the gems for the rod and trying to get out of that area I keep going back to the demon wraith who makes minced tofu out of my party. I'd appreciate any help that can be given. Thanks

 

I just sent off a dispel magic from my paladin/inquisitor lowering his defences and had my four fighters pound the crap outta him, while hiding my other two with invisibility.

 

Didn't you get blasted with all the fireball traps that are in the room?

 

i had imoen take them out... considering fireballs hardly hurt my group anymore anyway

 

Fireball trap?? I think this is the area i got hit by some sort of trap that was like wail of the banshee. Besides, the wraith comes to you after casting timestop and a couple pathetic spells so i just stayed back and fought his servants while mazzy shot arrows at him.

 

If this is the room I am thinking of in Watcher's Keep, its not an easy fight.

Here's how I got through it.

My party:
Bateluer= Elven Ranger
Keldorn
Minsc
Nalia
Imoen
Aerie

Remember, taking out the Demon Wraith frees the other slave wraiths

I had Bateluer and Keldorn charge the Demon Wraith and attack him immeadiately. I kept Minsc back with my spell casters for protection. The only fireball trap you need to be wary of is the one just below where the Demon Wraith starts, it launches several fireballs in rapid succession.

I used Aerie to cast Sunray and Holy Smite. Imoen was equipped with the Gesen Bow and launched electric bolts at the slave wraiths, and Imoen and Nalia both blanketed the area with Horrid Wilting.

 

WOund up beating this guy. Had a mage summon 2 hakeashar and my monk went at him ( cloak of reflection and boots of speed. Airie cast dispell magic and the rest of the part took out the wraiths. The Hakesheashr keep the wraith busy while my monk bashed his pointed head in.

 

I confess - we ran back through the portal (since you had to go north from this room anyway!) after getting killed and reloading about four times ... what do those souls skilled enough and brave enough to clobber the demon wraith get for their trouble?

 

well there's all this treasure just lying on the floor in that room. ON THE FLOOR!!! Not even in a container, including the white dragon scales which can imo be turned into the best weapon in the game.

 

One of my party members got hit by flesh to stone and korgan got fireballed to death the time I did it today. Even still it wasn't a hard fight and I probably could do it again without having two party members die. I just rushed the Demon Wraith and it fell in a few seconds.
