Hey guys, I have a problem talking with NPCs.

It quite often occurs that when I click on an NPC to speak with them, I get the 'this person is busy' message. I can save and reload a few times, or zone in and out of a few buildings, and then the person will speak with me. (sometimes hehe)

Is this a normal thing, or could I possibly have broken one or more of the scripts, leading to them not speaking with me?

Such as the bridge murders, I cannot speak with the animal tamer near the circus regarding the leather (if that is even required) and I have already killed the guys in the tanners hut, but the guard that issued the quest wont speak with me.

A few of the other quests that I am working on seem to have a similar problem, although it isnt just quest NPCs that do this. I cannot speak with a number of merchant types, although if I try the load/reload a few times I sometimes can deal with them.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated thanks. :)

Have you installed the latest patch? That's an old bug that Bioware had to fix. If you don't have the newest patch, DL and install it. That should fix the problem.

No mods installed, and I bought the collectors back with BG2+ToB which apparently is fully patched? I can try the patch anyway if it will fix it. It is very annoying. :)

Yep, that is very common bug with ToB and Windows 2000/XP. Patch should fix it.

Are you sure you have the THrone of Bhaal patches? There are SoA patches, but those don't fix the problem. (I struggled with this one for a long time too) Just install the Throne of Bhaal patches and you should be fine.
