[IMG] This board seems to be made up entirely of BG veterans, the way I read the posts, so this might be a good way to find out how many times my friends here actually replay the game.
I have only gone through BG2 SOA twice, which is way too short, IMHO. Those two rounds cost me 5 months' of my life...
I am sure many here had done better than I did :)

[IMG] BG veterans? You're joking... :D

    Personally, I don't remember for BG1.
IWD I finished only once. Got sick.
BG2 twice, now I'm replaying it for the third time. But it is booooooooring.
PT seven times. Next month probably will be 8th time. :p

    P.S.
Welcome to the boards. ;) :D

    [IMG] Thanks Extremist.

I have just finished my first round of Planescape (thanks to Fable, who helped me out at Ragpicker's Square).

I am still amazed that an RPG so good can be so bombed out sales-wise, and hence no sequel. OTH, look at Diablo 2 LOD, it's not even considered an RPG by some and yet it tops the sales charts. Ah well, one of life's ironies, I suppose.

BG is big, and has its merits. Together with PS:T, they qualify as desert island games, ie if there are the only 2 games I can bring to a desert island, they will be the ones!

    Cheers!

See Extremist, almost everyone here has more experience than I do <grin>.

A common characteristic between BG and PS:T appears to be their replayability IMO. I have only dabbled with IWD and Diablo 2 (oh no, not that! Please don't spam me!) fleetingly. They don't seem to cut it if posts in this and other forums are anything to go by.

    I stand correct of course.

[IMG] Come on! The number of finished replays means nothing - if you never saw all quests. ;)

IWD: Beaten 2 times, 3 times got to Chap 6, then restarted
BG2: Beaten 2 times, restarted like 10-15 times and got to various stages of the game.
ToB: Plan to beat it by next Sunday.

[IMG] Hmm, you've got a point there about playing through all the quests, Extremist; I must make a note of that.

After all, we have to get our money's worth, haven't we??

Ahh, so much to play, so little time...

    BG2/ToB: 1.5x
IWD: I bought it...I didn't like it...I stopped playing it...
    PT: 2x...gonna be 3x as soon as I bump BG2 to a full 2x.

Out of the 3, Torment is by far my favorite. Heck, it's my favorite CRPG period.

BG: 4 times. Though the first time I ran directly through without exploring anything.
I think it was cool to try out different alignments and parties. (There are so many to choose from)
BG 2: I have tried to restart a couple of times. First I tried with a good party, but then I realised how much I had missed.
Besides I was tired of being a goody-goody.
I got to the underdark with an evil party but I didn't think I played it correctly so I started again with a neutral.
But then it crashed because of a bug.
I eventually fixed it, but I think I'll just start over some day...
Icewind dale: I got to Seldarines hand with a good party, but my party simply didn't work very well ( OKAY it sucked). I am now fighting my way through Dorns keep with an evil party.
As the others said it's the kind of game you only play once. Too much BORING monster-fighting.
PT: 2 times. It's easy to get attached to, so I've decided to let it rest no matter how tempting it is...

Ok everyone, how everybody forgets that BG had an expansion set too? It's like forgotten...and there're the IWD expansion set too! So I'll add them to MY list.
    Baldur's Gate: 7
Tales of the Sword Coast: 3
Shadows of Amn: I got a bug in the underdark on my first time so I abandonned it.
    Throne of Bhaal: 2
Icewind Dale: I'm playing it right now.
    Heart of Winter: 1
Planescape: Torment: I *try* to convince my dad to buy it.

HoW and Tales are hardly worth mentioning. I got all the way through HoW without dying on my first try <yawn>. IWD is nice if you feel like playing the D&D version of Let's Make a Deal. You've got 7th level character's walking around with 15th level merchandise. ("Give me what's in the box!") I played it twice and you get new random items every time you play it, which makes it somewhat interesting. There's this one bow that shoots 4x per round + the arrows of piercing...

I tried playing BGI after getting BGII & IWD. Bored the hell out of me. Sitting there for 5 minutes watching a hobgoblin and my cleric duke it out. ("Will someone score a hit, please?!?") Mark me down onece for that one.

BGII, on the other hand, is a *deep* game. There is so much to do in that game. I'm just finished my 3rd time and am going through ToB now. I love the new feats. I love the character development. I still haven't messed around with the NPCs, yet. I like building my own party (through multiplayer) so much better, but with all the crap you can do with them, it may be worth doing a single player one of these days.
