final battle insane skill with Ascension, anyone finished that?

The final battle with Ascension 1.4 from David Gaider added to it on insane skills just seems impossible, I really liked the added diffeculty the other patches offered, like the yaga shura battle, that must have been the best battle ever, so intense! And still pretty do able on insane with some careful tactile playing.

But the final battle, when you come into the ToB chamber, and face irenicus and his lil sister, that just seems impossible, my +- level 35 party gets slauthered in 10 to 20 secs! It's insane.

Anyone finished that battle on insane, and might have some tips?

 

let a mage hav chain contigensy with "Abu Kalzims Hossid Wilting", and cast timestop(In the spell u cast improved alcatry, and just pour out spells(helps have "pause when spell cast" just to max out the time in the TS)like dragonbreath Abu kalzims, firearrow etc etc). You can kill 2 dragons in one TS with that tactik. Belive me I dod it soloing a Sorcerer with the improved baalspawn paches installed. Piece of cake

 

Some spell triggers with summoning spells realy help. But, i think you've already tried a lot, so you probably tried regeneration, minor spell sequenser with Doom, Sanctuary, Shapechange, and all that kind of tactics. Maybe is spell shield a good suggestion?

 

Spell shield from "Staff of Magi" is a MUST

 

Spell Trap is the protection spell in Staff Of The Magi. Major differences between that and Spell Shield.

But anyway... Staff of Magi has other MUST HAVE things... Like protection from evil... etc

And I know... Spell tra and spell shield have major differences, after all. Its 2 different spells

Just curious... did you by any chance end up killing Amylesan BEFORE killing all of the other bhaalspawn?

I gave up in frustration last time after discovering that the last two killed would be made invincible, and killing Amelysan with two of them left always turned out to be impossible...

 

I've finished it at normal.
