    when i try to go into Mae'Var's basement to have him accept me it crashes. what can i do?

    Have you tried reloading and re-entering? Do you have the latest patches available from SP?

    As Shadow Steele says, make sure you have both the official patch and either the SP or Baldurdash fixpack installed. (Install the official patch first.)

    i have TOB installed and it says that it will mess up if i install the SP fixer. and yes i have restarted and reloaded i even started a new game and it did the same thing

    The SP fixpack only works if you don't have TOB installed. Try installing Baldudash's fixpack.

    Your area file may be corrupted, in which case you may want to do a full reinstall or try to find the area on the right CD and reinstall it over the existing one.
