[IMG] just remember not to go berzerk in it though - unless you really want to spoil the game for yourself dont get 2 Crom Faeyers and max out on all stats. its just an editor to help you to explore the game's capabilities, re-do mistakes and make the game that tiny bit easier if you are finding it a tad difficult.

  4. Herm... not the point entirely. 80% of the people who use SK is usually die-hard cheaters. If you screw around with SK too much, it will screw up your game. Sometimes there are bugs that won't give you certain items or maybe if you've looked everywhere and still couldn't find something, you could put it in your inventory. I used to use SK for cheating but I wouldn't cheat that much. Now, since I don't play BG series anymore, I use it for people who want to know something about items or spells.

[IMG] SK? I use Sk NOT for cheating, but for screw ups in the game.

eg. At the end of the Jaheira romance when the bug kicks in? I used sk to finsish it.

Also if i'm making specialized chars, like a Dark Paladin, I cdhange the Innate Spells from Cure light wounds to Vampiric Touch etc.
Or to change allignment, for example: What if you want a Chaotic Neutral Ranger? use SK! I used it to allow my Druid to summon Dread Wolves instead of Spirit Animals.

If you cheat heavily though, it will take the fun out of the game, I advise you NOT to change stats TOO heavily, not more than 1pt each way, or give yourself ded hard items early in the game.

    thats about it...

[IMG] SK is not bad, but it may cause problems, so it is a better choice to use the CLUAConsole.
You need to set Cheats=1 in the baldur.ini file (it us under Game Options).
Then, in the game you need to press Ctrl+Space. That enables the console. There is a whole bunch of commands for the console which can affect almost anything. Search the forum, someone (Extremist, I belive) posted all of the Console Commands...

    urm... it's not cheats=1 for bg2... it's actually

    debug mode=1

... on the topic of SK... i use it mainly as an Item/Spell/Creature Browser more than anything else (mainly to check my own Custom Texts and BAMs etc). SK is a useful tool if it is not abused. But i can't see the point in having it is if all you are going to do is give your character 25 in all stats... or give your character Crom Faeyr in Chapter 2 or something.

Deano, Cheats=1 is also for BG2. My baldurs.ini has Cheats=1 and no Debug line. Probably both of them work...

Shadow keeper is a cheater program to bg2.
To him with cheats=1, you shall write Debug Mode=1 :) :). And in the game you shall push ctrl+space
