Majikus watches this Gash character with curiosity...

"Hmm, wonder what he's up to then..."

Majikus then nods to Xalen, Thomas and Jolly Jack and clibs inside the boat with Hook. As he sits down on a comfortable bed, he suddenly gets a feeling of dread come through him...

"By Baldur! I sense i great evil and malice near by! I hope it is not intended at us!

Majikus then shivers and then decides to lay down and close his eyes but not sleeping keeping vigilant and all his belongs against the wall next to him...

 

Bayne the elf wakes up form his slumber in the inn and slowly rises, stretching his muscles as he rises.
Slowly he dresses, taking his time to enjoy his last few hours on land for the next tenday...when finally he finshes he groands and sets about washing himself. When even thats finshed he goes downstairs to the social room and eats to his full.
After a few hours of aimless wandering about the beautiful city he make shis way to the docks, spying Jolly Jacks boat Bayne climbs aboard and falls alseep, leaving a message to the captain to wake him when they set off.
Dreaming of drow and other evil creatures Bayne drifts into un-needed and un-wanted slumber...

 

Kitiara awakens suddenly from her short slumber. Awakened by the sounds of shouting and splashing water, she mutters to herself "cant a girl get any sleep around here"

Stretching her long legs just breifly as she scrambles from her cot, she hastily grabs her robe and wraps it around herself.

Looking briefly in the mirror she adjusts her long hair into a braid. Grabbing her pouch off the shelve and attaching it to her belt, she figures she might as well go on deck and see what is going on this time.

Reflecting back on her long journey, she thinks to herself "Now what is going on on this confounded ship"

Her long robes flutter around her ankles as she climbs the stairs to the deck. The sunlight pierces her eyes causing her to raise a hand to shield them.

Looking out over the still water she sees the flat surface ripple and a tuft of hair appears, a face gasping for air before it disappers again below the surface.

Looking towards the docks she sees the captian and two boatmen pointing to the spot where she had seen the ripples.

Wondering to herself why the delay in casting off.. she notices two strangers also on the deck. "great more ruffians" she whispers to herself. "all swords and glory i suppose" Making her way down to the docks she cant help noticeing that this duo does not seem to be your usual ragtag ruffians.....

Bayne is disturbed from his half slumber as a graceful red-head climbs from a hole in the deck. Bayne stares at the beautiful woman as the walks down te gangplank, he can't help but be mesmerised by her long legs and fiery red hair, "There goes another I may never have...I'll have to see about recruiting her..."
With thoughts of the gorgeus red-head still in the fore-front of his mind Bayne goes back to slumber, this time completely serene.

 

Xalen turns around suddenly as he hears the woman's voice behind him. As he looks her up and down, even with a scowl on his face from her unusally direct line of questioning (unusual for this city at least), he consciously has to fight back a smile from his face for such a striking young lass. But then his thourough perusing of her figure suddenly reveals the harp pin on her chest, a shocking discovery for such a young adventurer as himself. Suddenly straightening himself upright, he, though obviously nervous, manages to compose himself for the moment at least. He thinks to himself, "Perhaps that crotchedy old mage was right all along."

"I'm sorry, Miss. I didn't hear you aproach, otherwise I certainly would have bowed sooner." Xalen bows before the young woman, even though it distains him to no end having to bow to more powerfull or prominant citizens than himself. "I would introduce myself, but it seems you already have at least some knowledge of who I am. Perhaps we could head back inside the Bright Blade Brandish. T'would be better I'd think to discuss such matters with at least a bit of privacy."

The two make their way back inside the Inn and find a table in the back corner. Fortunately for Xalen, the inn is relative empty this early in the morn. He waves off the waitress and begins to relate his adventures with the Drow only a day before. "Well, there seems to be little to say other than what I have already related. Myself and a few companions who were looking into a matter involving the Crimson Serpent Coster, well, stumbled I guess would be the most appropriate word into this matter. A city noblewoman hired us to entrap this drow. We posed as the seller of the kirra, a Mrs Dekrynn, her clerk, and a bodyguard. We were traveling down a wooded trail when we took the road to the inn, and suddenly there was a huge dark mass following out cart. Aparently this, combined with some magically created cart sounds, led the guards that followed to believe we had not turned off the trail but were still traveling on it. As we went deeper into the wood, a brutish Hobgoblin jumped out in front of our cart, stopped it, and lead myself, Majikus, and a now departed dwarf down the trail to the inn. Once there, the drow stepped out and demaned the gem. Fortunately, the city had supplied us with a fake. The confrontation was brief indeed. The man had the typical drow features as far as I could tell as he was cloaked with the hood pulled around his face. He wielded a hand crossbow, though that's hardly distinguishing as I know. What did stand out was the man had a hand of silver. I distinctly saw it gleam in the sunlight. After he took the gem, he left us to a summoned dire rat and a hobgoblin commander and his lackey. I and Majikus made it alive, the Dwarf, I can't say the same for. During the comotion, the Drow headed off to the left I believe and disapeared into the woods. We managed to find nothing that was left behind by the bunch. However, a soldier did find a small silver locket with a heart pierced by a dagger. After that, well, we were escorted back to the city, and I feel rather slighted on the payment for almost dying. However, that's really all I know. I was truly hoping you might be able to shed some light on the situation. I've felt in the dark since I came to this bright city. Please, if there's anything you can tell us, or if there's anyway we might be able to get this fiend who almost cost me my life, let us help. We don't have much to offer, I know, but I believe at least myself, possibly my companions as well, would be willing to do what it takes to capture this drow. Can you help us?"

 

Rhodda smiled and thanked Xalen.
"Yes, I am aware of the pendant, I have it. I hope it will help Liam, my wolf-friend to pick up the scent. As for helping you, I suppose in bringing this drow to justice I will be helping us all. Now, I must away before the trail cools, FAre thee well and thank you for your help." With that she slipped out into the early morning streets of Silverymoon.

Thomas threw a line to Gash, who was starting to struggle in the fast flowing waters of the river Rauvin, weighed down as he was with his gear.
"Damn and blastit" said Jack, "this is going to delay our departure!"

 

Drake replies, "I, I am Drake and I do not have a clan. I was cast out and banished to the top world... for being too evil. <whispers> yeah thats it."

 

Xander tired and not at all in a sociable mood says, "Talk to to Thomas," having never opened his eyes. After a minute or so though Xander realizes he can't go back to sleep, curses the woman, then gets up just in time to see Gash drug aboard and the ship begin to leave.

 

Aerik, having gone back to town for supplies, sees the ship begin to leave without him as he reaches the docks. HE then runs and jumps high into the air flipping himself onto the ship. He then turns to a member of the crew and says in almost a whisper, "next time wait for me." Then he walks over to a deserted part of the ship where he stands and looks out over the water.

 

Er-Cam chuckled. "Don't insult my intelligence. EVERY drow has a clan, even if you are expelled from it. And the reward for being 'too evil' is promotion, not expulsion. Now, being too good on the other hand ....
Let's try again, do you revere Lolth?"

Thomas yelled to Gash to grab the line. He was clearly stuggling, having no swimming skill and weighed down by his chain shirt. With a 'man overboard' Jack stopped casting off the barge.

 

As the boat pulled away from the quay, Jakob looked around in confusion. He had been planning on making another foray into town to stock up on rations, but saw two burly sailors haul up the gangplank before he could reach it. And now the boat was moving... "Odd," he muttered to himself, "I'm could have sworn I was told the boat didn't leave until dawn... Maybe they're just...repositioning it to..to..take advantage of, no, no, avoid...something to do with currents? Ach! Sailor stuff I don't understand. Unless...unless.. this is the day after we boarded..." His puzzlement increased. The Upper Planes knew that, what with all the fuss and adventure and hassle of the past few days his sleep cycles had gone to the Abyss. He was prone to drifting off at the most inappropriate times, and would be hard pressed to say what day it was. All the events since that night in the Bright Blade Brandished were a blur, it just seemed so unreal. He looked around again, trying to find someone he knew who could explain what was going on. All he could see was a mass of unfamiliar faces. "Where is everybody?" he wondered, " and what are we planning to do in..." he glanced at the Travel Itenerary he'd found lying on one of the deck tables, noting that it did indeed state a departure at dawn the following day, "...Yartar anyway?" The commotion at the stern caught his attention. As he looked towards the stern, where he could see a number of sailors shouting at some kind of disturbance in the water, he thought he could see Thomas holding a line and shouting. "By Garl, and Baervan, and the entire pantheon! One of the party must be in trouble!" he cried, and rushed towards Thomas to offer assistance hauling whoever it was onboard.

Gash grabbed the line and let himself be dragged onboard. He thanked Thomas and looked about for the burly sailors. He didn't see them and instead decided to thank Thomas for the service he had given him.

"Here, I dunno how much it's worth," He said as he knocked out one of his gold fillings and tossed it to a disgusted looking Thomas.

People were looking at him. he tried to avoid their gazes but people kept staring at him.

Then he realised who was stood behind him. He accpeted the dishcloth from Jolly Jack and made his way miserably down to the galleys...

 

Majikus wakes up suddenly and starts to wonder why...

"Ergh! Whats that smell?!?"

Majikus then spots a soaked person walk past him heading towards the kitchen area. The person stank of some decomposing fish.

"Guess the river aint as clean as i thought" Majikus mutters under his breath. Majikus then calls out to the person, "Hey you! Whats with the smell? Is it a craze or s'thing? Anyway, my names Majikus..."

Majikus refrains from holding out his hand due to 'smells'

 

An amused smile playing on her lips Milla walks over to the man in the center of the commotion at the rail.

"Exciting things seems to happen around you Thomas. Maybe I can be of some assistance?"
Milla glances at the watersoaked figure standing next to Thomas.

"By the way, my name is Milla"

 

Xalen leans back in his chair, dismayed as ever. Naturally, part of it was seeing such a shapely beauty walk away from him, though that too was in part fun. However, his most overwhelming complaint is that, still after all this, he was just as much in the dark as before. The Harper's proved of little help, almost as he had assumed. But at least they did take the time of day to seek him out, even if offering nothing in return. He just prayed though, that perhaps they could catch this Er Cam. He obviously felt something most unsetteling about being hunted by such a powerful dark elf as this one obviously was. Xalen stood up and looked out the window, staring at the horizion in the distance. Somewhere out there, he thought, somone powerful is lurking. Pray he's stopped before he takes your head.

Xalen looks at the floor and sighs, heading out the side of the bar without a word to anyone and makins his way to the ship. When he arives, he notes that his little conversation almost cost him his escape from town, as the ship obviously had started to depart without him. He yelled at the sailors to put the plank back to the docks, and after finally getting someone aboard to identify him to the crew, they obliged. He made his way on board and headed down to the bunks, hoping to find a place to stow some of his gear. He noticed Majikus talking to some foul smelling soaking wet fool, but payed little attention. After stowing some of his gear away, he headed back onto deck where he dispursed the rest of the 13gp portions to Pimm, Bayne, Magicus, Knomal, Gracious, and Majikus. (OOC if I left anyone out, let me know please). Having accomplished that mundane task, he notices a fiery redhead on deck that takes his mind off that Harper almost imediatly. Then just as quickly he notices her elven features and cringes. Well enough of that he thinks to himself. He walks to the starboard side where he sees Thomas talking to a monk it would apear. He apraoches and introduces himself to the newcomer....

 

"Well met, Milla, I am glad to be sharing this voyage with you. Hopefully it will be quiet and uneventful, but trouble does have this habit of following me around." smiled Thomas.

Jack finaly cast off and stowed the gangplank. The sailors used the 4 oars to manoeuvre the Cormarant into mid stream and then the River Rauvin current started to take them out of Silvermoon. Once clear of the city they shipped the oars and raised the mast. With the sail set they picked up speed and watched the wooded countryside slip by on either bank.

"Has anyone got any fishing lines?" Thomas asked. "We could supplement our rations with some Rauvin river carp."

 

Xander pulls out his staff, the 2 darts, and the dagger. He then proceeds to break the blades off of the 2 darts. using his whetstone he shapes the bottom of the blades to a little bit smaller than the diameter of his staff. he then puts 2 small holes, each barely large enough for an armor pin to fit through in the blades. He then uses his dagger to to carve out a spot on each end of his staffso that he may insert the blades. He then puts 2 holes in each end of the staff to line up with the ones in the dart blades. He then takes 4 of his armor pins and puts them through the holes to hold the blades in. now he must wait until he finds an adequate heat source to finish his weapon, or it will be of no use to him. So he puts it away on his pack, and pulls out his sickle for protection. (Erran I'm attempting to make a weapon with 2 blades at either end of the staff. If you don't like it tell me and I'll edit this message accordingly. I'm leaving the damage of the item up to you.)

 

Gash stopped and turned to face Majikus.
"Greetings Majikus," he said as he roughly shook the mans hesitant hand. "The smell? Oh gods I do smell. This won't do at all, thanks for pointing it out."

Gash unbuckled his pack and took out a bottle filled with lavender water, he splashed some on his face releasing the aroma. Majikus looked puzzled.

"Isn't that...er...women's perfume?" he asked.

"Was, dear sir, it was a woman's perfume, she gave it to me after I saved her dog form a Giberrling, here you have it, it's a sure fire hit with the ladies." He tossed the bottle to Majikus.

"Well be seeing yer round Majikus, I better go and do 15gp worth of galleywork," He said as strolled off down the corridor...

 

Jakob watches Gash speak to Majikus and disappear below decks. Noone I recognise, he thought, must be a new friend of Thomas' - I hope we can trust him. He turns to Thomas, "What exactly are we planning on doing in Yartar?" he asks, " And how long is this trip going to take? I'd better go stow my stuff at my berth soon, before someone nicks my place, but I'd want to speak to the others at some point. Where can I find them?"

 

Well Jacob, according to the captain it should take us a tenday to get to Yartar. From there we could either take another boat or pick up a wagon caravan to Waterdeep, if you've a mind to visit the 'city of splendours'. As for the others, the Cormarants not a large craft, you are bound to run into them somewhere.

OoC. OK Xander, you've now got a staff with a spike at either end. In melee, please specify whether you are trying to bash people with it (d6 damage) or poke them with it (d4 damage). You can't do both.
