Surely cloudkill will do the job, only exception here is that the mindflayer or ulitharid has strong MR, so they can't be harmed to some serious degree at least with one cloudkill.

Another option would be to use the Staff of the Magi with the Cloak of Non Detection.

Invisibilty and Non Detectable. :D But I don't think you would be able to backstab. :(

[IMG] Hmmmm, now here is a thing noone yet mentioned. Wands of Cloudkill pass through MR easier than ordinary spell (it's a bug).

Maybe Ragusa used wands to cast spells?

Extremist is right, I used the wand of cloudkill for that purpose.

I never did understand why everybody was always talking about the cloudkill spell so much. Nice to finally have that cleared up, but I don't intend to use it (much).

Stressed, the Cloudkill is one of most abusive elements in the game. The "strategy" for using it is displayed in many so called guides and walkthroughs. Even these boards are not immune to that (dealing the dragons without getting attacked, etc.)

The actual point is that you may cast it on "fogged" area, but since the enemies don't posess AI good enough, they won't attack you back if they don't see you. So, you can weaken them or even kill them with those without getting attacked.

This munchkin "strategy" can be performed also with Abi's Wilting and similar area affecting spells. But for Cloudkill there is that buggy bonus with Wands of Cloudkill that allows such Cloudkill effect to breach through any kind of MR.

    [EDIT]
I just saw another bug exploit about scrolls in this forum ...
The person advises it to equip any scroll in any class' quickslot no matter the game rules.
Now imagine combination of that exploit with wand bug exploit. Nice "strategies".

The main problem is of course Black Isle and Bioware. Not even the newest patch removed those exploits. Too shame I'll probably skip NWN just because of such things.

I use cloud kill quite often, but never in any unlegit manner. It works good in combonation with stinky cloud and web. And I always cast it from memory, I never seem to use wands in bg2...

I like cloudkill either - since I always have a thief to scout my areas I never actually shoot into the fog - the thief stands there ans observes effect and target (a pretty hairy business when dealing with mindflayers or beholder-like creatures).

Cloudkill from wands on friendly dragons from out of their sight radius is about tha lamest way to "fight" after using the killsword on them :nolike:

Extremist, I always heard it so much but never understood why people called it cheating considering I could never even hit dragons with cloudkill that's the only thing I wanted to point out.

My last game was a mono wizard slayer. No cloudkill there when attacking Adalon, just 2 longswords ;)

I have to admit it's a shame one of the best games ever made has the most bugs I have ever seen in a game. I think the whole design of the game is wrong. Some bugs just shouldn't happen no matter what. One example: the kangaxx pick pocketing. A succesfull pickpocket should remove the item from inventory and he should not be able to get it back. This is all just a bunch of bad programming which is a real shame considering the game is such a good one.

I also very much like the game System Shock 2. This game is made by EA and looking glass studios. To my knowledge there is no bug in the game. There isn't even a patch. Now that's what I call programming!!!!!!!
