Tomas walked toward his assigned door. "Gareth," he called to the comp tech. "Can you magic up a floor plan of this place? Be nice to know what we're heading into."

He popped a stick of gum into his mouth and waited for Percov and Heide to join him.

 

"Sure thing Tom" Gareth said as he pulled out his laptop. In about two minutes he had all the floor plans ready and he exported them so that the other members of the squad could veiw them anytime they wanted. Checking the safety of his rifle, Gareth waited patiently.

 

"Finaly, something to do." Percov said.

"I guess we're gonna start with the north offices, then the computer labs and then the kitchens, right Josef? Or shall I make it Sir Josef?" Percov said this with an intelligent tone.

Then, he headed towards a locker, planing to search inside. It was locked. "Who the hell locked this damn locker? Wait 'till I get my hands..." He stoped because an ideea hit him in the head. He took out a grenade from his belt. Everyone around him was starting to get worried. Just as they were about to say something, he started bashing the lock with the grenade. He finally opened the locker and found four flashbangs and a bottle of whiskey. He carefully put them all in his backpack. As everyone was watching him put the whiskey in his backpack, he said: "...maybe... maybe I'll make a Molotov Cocktail!"

 

"Percov - please don't loot the scientists. It is not becoming of a marine." Josef said, trying to hide a grin. "Team 2, let's move out." Josef sent Kieren a salute and moved out of the door toward the computer labs.

 

"No problem, chief!" said Percov and headed towards the northern offices. The door was cracked open. He slowly opened the door while tightening his grip on his MK60. The hallway was extremely dark and quiet. You could only see a few feet in front of you.

"This is gonna get nasty!" he said and then looked towards Gareth:
"You had some infrared goggles, right?"

 

Kieren watched as Josef moved his team out, then turned to his own.

"Alright! Move out! Keep it close and slow. No stuff ups. Lawson, take the rear. Ok, lets move."

With his commands issued, Kieren made his way into teh southern halls, leading his group.

 

Gareth threw a pair of goggles at Percov, not exactly softly, and then took the rear as the captain ordered. He flexed his fingers as he waited for the rest of the squad.

 

"Come on Heide, I'm not going in alone!" Percov said while putting on the infrared goggles that Gareth gave him.

As he put them on he saw a long corridor with six doors, three on each side. The corrider was filled with litter.

Percov walked to the first door on the left. Just as he was about to open it, he stoped:

"I really ain't gonna die on this frickin station" Then he holstered his MK60 and took his Flamethrower of his back. he checked the fuel canister and then, slowly, opened the door. The small room seemed to be empty. He quickly searched all the cabinets but found nothing. The next second he heard a lound sound that seemed to come from the end of the corridor.

"What the hell?"

 

Kieren and his squad continued down the corridor. He held his assault rifle now, his pistol in James' hands behind him. The team passed through many offices, but found nothing interesting.

After a few minutes, they reached the end of the hall and the front door to the complex.

"Ok, turn aorund and head down the corridor heading East. Link, you lead." And the team began in the opposite direction.

 

Tomas covered the hallway while Percov and Heide searched the first room. He cursed, silently. Too much junk scattered about limited his lines of vision, and therefore his lines of fire.

He heard a sound coming from the other end of the corridor and turned to Josef. "Possible contact, sir. Orders?"

 

Link nodded his reply. Turning on his heel, he switched his flashlight to high. Then set off down the corridor.
"You ready guys, keep your fingers on the triggers and blast anything that moves."

 

Floor loked at Anthony "Did you here me?" "I think some one or some thing has entered our base here I don't know if they are good or evil, but right now we can't take risks!"

 

Percov, Tomas and Heide were searching the the northern offices. Room by room they searched, but found nothing. When they reached the last room on the right, they heard some strange, scratch-like noises coming from inside the room.

Percov equipped his automatic shotgun, that fired shells of depleted uranium shards (ooc: unreal2 adaptation).

"Ok, kids! I don't know what it is, but I intend to burn it!"

He bashed the door open and saw a small room with about half-a-dousine human head sized eggs. Suddently, a small creature jumped on the end of his shotgun. The result was a loud burst and a lot of blood covering the wall and a part of the ceiling.

"What the hell was that? I say we get rid of these eggs, sir. What do you think?" He said while looking at Josef.

 

Kieren, from his position in the southern tunnels, heard the gunshot and instantly broke into a run. However, as he entered the main lab, the place he had met the civilans for the first time, the captain stopped dead in his tracks.

Bodies. Not only the diseased, but also the science men. They were dead. Their bodies torn apart by violent gunfire.

 

Link started as he heard a gun shot, then his captain ran past him. He took him a second to regain his balance, then he took off after his captain. He arrived a second or two after his captain, the dead bodies of the scientists strewn on the floor. Slinging his rifle over his shoulder, he approached the nearest body. KNeeling down he picked up a bullet,
"This is a .50 calibar sir, one of our own bullets, an i'm not accusing anyone, but there's no sign of the new guy, Jarrad."

 

"Bastard!" Kieren screamed, as he realised the marine was right. No body of Jarred in the room. He was gone. And it was then that he heard it. Like a rushing wind storm outside. Then a loud clanking on the roof.

A ship!

 

After destroying the eggs in the northern offices, Josef's team heard some noises comming from the entrance room.

"Now what? Ths is starting to get strange..."

They quickly left towards the room where they heard the noises from.

 

Kieren turned to his team. Two marines, one captain, one useless civilian.

"Team two! Get your asses to the labs! Now!" He screamed into his head mike.

 

Team two rushed to the labs. As soon as they arrived in front of the door to the labs, Percov tripped on something...

"What the f...?

It was only a can...

"Who the hell put this f..."

He did't have time to finish, because everybody was allready in the labs. He entered the labs as well.

 

Josef held the comm close to his mouth as he ran through the corridor toward the lab. "Team 2 in motion, sir. What is your situation?" He hadn't even thought to tell Kieren of the alien eggs they had found in the north offices.

The door to the lab was already open and he slowed his pace, entering with his rifle to his shoulder.
