[IMG] I am trying to get into the lighthouse and the guard won't let me in without a book...what book would that be??? I had a book with me (the charisma one) but he didn't seem to want that one.

Did you take Duke Eltan to the harbormaster? He (the Duke) should have given you the book that the gatewarder wants. If your inventory was full, the book is probably on the floor! Go back for it!

Uh Oh...I don['t remember that fellow. Where is he? My problem is that I try to do these things without a walkthrough...and sometimes wind up in places that I can't be yet. If you can remember where this guy with the book is...please tell me. Millions of thanks and a quart of Dwarvan Ale!

Duke Eltan was found in the Flaming Fist Headquarters in southeastern Baldur's Gate.

More confusion as I have not even gotten access to Baldur's Gate yet...guess I will slow down and go over a few areas to see what I may have missed...can't think of another way to do this.

Presuming you mean Candlekeep, don't worry about it for just now. You will get back in at a later stage in the game. Just contine through the game, follow the plot and enjoy yourself :).

Indeed, it's Candlekeep (where you started) and not Lighthouse, you can only enter it later in the game....

You have to do Nashkel Mines, Bandit Camp and Cloakwood mines first ;)

The lighthouse is down two areas to the south and one to the west.

Yep, the map at the shore of the sword coast, 2 down of Candlekeep, in the southwestern part of the map, however there's not much to be done except for a small not interesting quest.

Well, at least I finally found the Cloakwood mines and flooded them! That was tough, but I got tons of stuff! Now I am going to go sell the stuff, heal up and then check out the lighthouse. I have heard that there is an opportuniit to rack up exp points there...I guess I will find out. Thanks for help!
