I'm starting a new party. It will be multi-player and I will play all of the players.

    Here's the makeup ....

Elven Stalker (Dual Wielding Katana's and Ninja-to's)
Half-Orc Barbarian (Dual Wielding Long Swords and Bastard Swords)
Dwarven Berserker (Dual Wielding Hammers and Flails)
    Half-Orc Kensai (Two-Handed Sword)
Halfling MC Fighter/Thief (Short Bow, Short Sword)
    Half-Elven MC Cleric/Mage (Sling, Staff)

I have a plan to scoop up some early magic items of some power and use them to annhiliate the rest of the game. I'll keep you posted.

I actually wanted to make a party that was more physical. I usually am very magic heavy.

OK, I cleared out Irenicus' first dungeon pretty easily. I did every single thing to gain as much experience as possible.

My barbarian is cleaning house with a +1 longsword and a +1 bastard sword. My kensai has the +2 Two-handed Sword. My berserker and stalker don't have any magic weapons yet.

EDIT - Now my plan.... I imediately set out for the city gate and ....

I just realized that this should be in the TOB forum as I have it installed. Is there any way to transfer this post to the TOB forum?

Thanks. Sorry for the mix up.

  5. Hm... not the ToB forum, this belongs in the Creativity Surge where all the other stories belong... just trying to be helpful... Good Luck with your party!

I headed right for the Watcher's Keep after I cleared the initial dungeon.

My goal was to do the first level of the Watcher's Keep (which doesn't appear too difficult) and use the valuable magic items for the rest of the campaign.

In fact the first level isn't a cake walk for people straight out of Irenicus' dungeon.

I entered and took a quick left. The stone golem fell pretty easily. I then continued through the rooms to the north and took out 5 Orogs. Then I started to run into problems.

I couldn't even dent those Vampiric Mists. I finally (after two reloads) used my barbarian to lure them into one of the small rooms and shut the door. In the process my barbarian got reduced in level, so I'll have to take care of that later. I ignored the big golems in the crypt, using the slippers to not activate them. I also took care of some spiders and slimes.

Then I activated the portal to the next level which also activates some very difficult statues. After alot of running and pitched battles my fighter heavy party prevailed.

The haul was just as I remembered. I got some valuable magical weapons, the unlimited +1 arrow quiver, and some great potions.

I left the first level and headed back to the city, confident that I was much better equipped (and levelled up) than I would have been had I stayed.

A fruitful venture, it seems. How many times did you reload the battle with the statues?

    None actually.

I have been through there several times and knew what to expect. A combination of a heavy fighter party and lots of healing potions got me through.

I retreated my whole party to a room and activated the portal with my fast barbarian again. That made them come to me one at a time through the door (I had to lure several of them to me).

The golem statue was the hardest but he couldn't fit through the door so I rotated guys to fight him.

I am actually way behind in the story here. I went back to town and wiped out the slavers. I also took on the party in the Temple district where you get Celestial Fury. I was amazed at how easy that was. I am beginning to really like my fighter heavy party.

As it stands now, I'm about to head to the D'Arnise Castle and continue the loop unitl I finish all the stuff outside of the city.
