"Your wisdom is baffling. Something along the lines of tracking him down and killing him, yes. But not the average thing. We cannot do it. There is only onw, who can. And he will not do it."

"Why?" somebody asked.

Lancarthos looked them all briefly in the eye.

"Because he is disappointed."

"And?" urged others.

"He is disappointed in all of us. All living beings walking on the path of Good or Neutral."

 

Kroktoth snarls and mutters in his sleep. He gives a loud scream.

"More demons! They invade my mind! My dreams! They will not do this! Not anymore!"

Lancarthos gives the Orc an odd look.

"What dreams did you have?"

Kroktoth glares at him sullenly, as if his dreams were none of the Belorthi's concern. But the Orc shrugs.

"I saw a man with blood on his hands. And another man with a bow, but no arrows."

"Strange. I can only think of two things that they would represent."

 

Meanwhile, in her secluded fortress, Alustriel gazed into her portal window with interest at this scene around a small campfire in the woods. She stepped away from her window, wondering if she should send one of her many avatars to further examine the situation....

 

A weak silence fell over the woods. No one had anything left to say. Each one slowly leaned beside a tree, and fell asleep.

Dawn rose upon a weary and scraggled group of mismatched people.

Standing before them - in broad daylight - were shades. Spectres. Wraiths. With glowing red eyes. They snarled, and didn't cringe from the sunlight.

 

"Ahh that is most peculiar." Illidan says light heartedly, before drawing his silver longsword.
Clasping the hilt with both hands, he swings the sword in a wide arc that passes through two spectres.
"Most peculiar indeed!"
