[IMG] What bothers you the most about this game? If you could change something to facilitate ease of use what would it be?

My complaint is always the same...bags of holding, gem bags, scroll cases, etc...and their limited storage capacity. I mean when I am playing these games I am a bit of a pack-rat,(I know..bad habit), and I suffer from the inability to part with items. So eventually I always end up with the situation where I am forced to either sell or drop something that I would rather keep.

I have seen mods for other games that have rectified this situation by creating "bottomless" bags but then this creates a whole new situation.
You now have like 500 items in one bag and spend a half of a hour looking for a certain sword to use.

Maybe I need to join a 12 step program for inventory control.

[IMG] I have the same problem that you do, being a pack rat that is. Therefore I'm glad that the containers hold only a limited amount. This forces me to do a spring cleaning every so often. I sell off most things that I haven't used for some time.

My pet peeve is the path finding indoors. Everytme I move my party through a doorway some of them decide that the door is blocked by the one in front and try to find some other way around instead of just waiting a few seconds for the doorway to clear.

My biggest peev with IWD2 is the path finding. It alsways seems to get me in trouble and I end up having to micro manage everyone for just simple moving from A to B.
The first time I was in the Goblin Fortress (inside), I moved my party forward and defeated the first few enemies - meanwhile one of my characters was getting hacked to pieces because he stumbled in on the leaders!!

[IMG] The european release date being postponed for the fifth time in six weeks. There is no bigger peeve than that! :p

[IMG] Regarding bags: You should be happy you have the extra room for cases in general!!!! I remember back in my day playing Baldur's Gate ;) :p , a quiver held only 20 arrows, and there were no scroll cases, potion boxes, or gem bags!!!

All you had were the 3 rows of slots in you character inventory!

I tend to run out of room too, but managing inventory is better now than it was in the beginning by a long shot!!!

I am a bit of a pack rat too, but mostly with scrolls and potions.

I think my peeve is the pathfinding. Nothing like most of the group taking the direct route and one or two that goes the long way or stumbles into an area I didn't want to go yet and hadn't scouted. But that has always been an issue with the IE.

Yeah, that's part of the game. Inventory awareness. Like Situational awareness, but on the ground. That's just another aspect of rpg's. Ever since Ultima IV, your inventory was another headache to keep track of. At least you can stash stuff in containers, and no one steals from them like they do in Arcanum...

Personally, I would have liked there *NOT* to be so many references to the original Icewind Dale. It's like, they tried to jigsaw everything together. It's like playing "Final Fantasy: The Dale of Ice". I bet they even managed to work in that one fighter guy that your bard could talk into becoming an artist, in the original Icewind Dale. And the deal with the Durgars being *friendly* to you? Comeon now; I played BG2. Korgan was friendly, but it was only after Jaheria threatened to club him with her staff, and even then it was sarcastic.

They made the call to make it different. One or two references is acceptable. But not 10 or 15.

And if you're going to come up with "puzzles", at least do a decent job of putting them in the storyline. "I made all those puzzles to keep them occupied, so they wouldn't be out killing and maiming everyone" is not a "good" way of integrating them. The developers order pizza, and sit on the couch playing Gran Turismo III, or whatever, during their think-tank sessions. That's totally cool; I can hang with that. But at least limit the beer until you've written everything down on paper.

Seriously here, I think they ended up spending a whole lot of time on the graphics and 3rd edition stuff, and just jumbled the plot elements in at the last minute. That's how it "sounds", anyways. The first one seems like it was just the opposite; like they sat down, and wrote an entire *BOOK* (for anyone who has played the original, this should be recognized as a pun), and revised it, before they even started coding the game.
