I've just experienced a hard drive crash, and lost all my dilligently saved games for Icewind Dale 2. I was using the pre-formed 'Sisters Of Blood' character group/party (altho' *any* group will do, at this point), and I had just finished the ice temple at the end of chapter 2. I had killed all three of the sisters, but hadn't been offered Nickodemus' favor yet. Is there any way that I could talk any of you nice folks into sending me e-mail with a savegame as an "attachment", or at least instructions on how to set the parameters of the game to get to approximately that point with a new all-made-up party? R.S.V.P. Thanx!

What's "Dale Keeper 2" (...and is it too late for me to use it to get back to the end of the Ice Temple in Chapt. 2)?

    hey, its ok
go to google.com and type "Dale Keeper II" (in commas, to get rid of all results that have 'dale' and 'keeper' in them away) and select one that has the a link with the words mudmaster in it. there might be an easier way, but this is how i got mine.

post again if you want tips on how to use it.

Okay, I d/l-ed DaleKeeper2-beta and installed it. I set all the "Global Variables" to 2 (so as to get immediately to Chapter 2), but I'm still in the same position at the beginning of the game. I don't even mean geographical position, but rather position of having to do all of those tedious tasks all over again. How do I use DaleKeeper2 to 1.) dispense with all of the quests that I've done already, and 2.) make available all of the map locations and new quests that having successfully accomplished the previous quests will otherwise do.

The idea is to be able to *not* do this all over again, yes?

    I'm just saying, here.

It might be faster, and less frustration for you, if you either just teleport your characters there with the console.

Or you use Dalekeeper to give everyone a killsword. The name of it is "Armageddon 2002".

Then just hack the wholely-living-bejesus out of chapter one. Don't wait for people to talk to you; just cut them down where they stand, and then wonder why there's a dialogue window when the guy has already been gibbed.

Once you make it to chapter 2, save the game. Drop the killswords, and give your characters back whatever they were carrying at the time, including spells. And continue on.

If you took 15 minutes with dalekeeper, you could be in chapter one within 1 hour. If you're running 60 updates per second, you can cut that down to 35 minutes, or so.

does anyone know the actual global variables?

[edit] sorry, that wasnt very specific, i meant how to make it so that you can completely skip a chapter and appear in the next one straight away.
like _deepdark wanted. i am interested to know if it is possible.

[IMG] There is no way you can cheat to get straight to Chapter 2

Dalekeeper2 will not help here. Dalekeeper1 is for Icewind Dale 1

I might have a game near the beggining of Chapter 2, Though I'm not sure if I have the 'Sisters of the Blood' as I usually make my own parties.

You can enable the cheat console in the configuration program and you can level your own people up and equip them as neccessary.

It might take about a day before I can get it to you though.

It doesn't have to be Sisters Of Blood. Heck, once I'm there I can reconfigure a party using DK2 in a few minutes, or just keep the party. But even hacking and slashing my way through the chapter still means that I have to somehow complete the quests and acquire the various treasure-hunt thingamajigs that are needed to set the game variables to even allow me to proceed further. F'rinstance, I set up a new party and walked up north to the gates at the top of the map and they simply wouldn't open. I tried using CTRL-J to transport past them, and still no-go. It's not just a matter of killing everything that moves for awhile, but I have to trapse around talking to everybody and their brother until the particular dialog ques come up and get succcessfully completed. Yeesh!

Heavens, if you (or anyone) has any sort of a savegame from the beginning of Chapt. 2 or the end of Chapt. 1 pleeeeeeeeeeeze feel free to send it along. Thanx!

[IMG] I found a game I can send, now I have to get it onto the right computer.

Seeming as you have lost your save games - have you lost your characters?

Really.... It doesn't matter to me.... Anything at all. I lost all the information on my hard-drive, characters and everything. You know, "format drive c: >This will erase all the information on that drive, proceed [Y]". It was awful! A month later and I'm still only *almost* back to normal. *Any*thing, ....pleeeeeeeze!
