[IMG] IWD2 looks great but the manual isn't very useful.

What is faerie fire? I have two drows with this ability and have tried to use it but I am not sure if it works or not.

I have noticed that some of my feats have 2 or even 3 levels, how do I know what level to use at what time. Is it not possible to have 2 feats running at the same time?

I have a two handed fighter with hig dex but she suffers -2 penalties on both weapons even though I have selected ambidexterity, weapon finesse & two weapon fighting.

If my mages use armoured arcana and armour prof will they suffer absolutely no penalties to spell casting?

    Thanks

Faerie Fire lowers the AC of the target by 2,supposedly because it makes the target easier to see.

Next, each proficiency point has its own use on a weapon. The first allows you to use the weapon without penalties.A second point gives you a +1 attack bonus and a third gives you a +2 on damage.

On dual weapons, those values are the minimum penalties you can get,by having all the feats, plus the off hand weapon being light. The penalty should be a -2 on each hand.

On the armored arcana issue, you can spend up to 3 proficiency points or feats on it,each giving you a 5% bonus. Thus, having all three feats, you can use armor which has a maximum of 15% chance of failure without any problems.

this spell makes the target suffers -2 penalty on armor class.

you always use the highest level of your feat. for example, when you picked three slots in large sword you gain large sword weapon specialization. whenever you use large sword, you receive the benefit of large sword weapon specialization. (in case, you need at least 4 levels in fighter to be able to choose 3 slots in any weapon)

weapon finesse has nothing to do when it comes to reducing dual wield penalties. instead of using STR to help you hit, it uses DEX when you are using light weapon (short sword, dagger and handaxe). although you have amidex, two weapons fighting and your are using light weapon in your off hand, you still have suffer -2 penalty. dual wield is a kind of melee that sacrifice quality (damage amount or armor class) for quantity (extra attack). no one said dual weild is going to kick huge butt. if you have high STR, go for one hand or two handed weapon instead.

armor prof reduce the penalties on movement and attack. armored arcana reduce the penalties on casting failure. even if you choose all of them (6 slots together) your mages still suffers heavy penalties on casting arcane spells. 3 slots on armor arcana reduce arcane casting failure by 15%, but heavy armor gives you arcane casting failure 50%. you still have to take 35% of pain.

I believe the Faerie Fire special ability is identical to the (druidic?) spell of with the same name. If you have the European release version, you only the spell list on a .pdf file in the 1st CD, so look there (and maybe give Virgin interactive some customer feedback too... what a bunch cheap b****rds they are).
