My tip is to have alot of antidotes to repel poison, lotsa armor to repel any hobgoblins that are lurking and also some resist charm spells/scrolls/potions/items etc. That way, when you enter the throng, the sirens are dust ... or goo.

    [IMG] DarkCroll, please.
    24 monsters summoned?

Bah! You could summon a billion if you knew how to.

Besides, do I need to know how many of them you summoned? No.

I just waltzed up with all my character equipped with various ranged weapons and just proceed to shoot the hell out of the sirines.
They didn't even have any time to charm any of my characters
(I just love ranged weapons, they are so deadly!!)

Backstabbing and Wands of Fire/Frost are deadly when Fighting Sirenes. Another option is just to give on character Charm protection, attack the sirine and let the rest then use mellee attacks.

[IMG] I am sure Ironbeard loves to get the same advice with half a years interval... ;)

Edit to paul; True true. But the search engine works well too. And this particular thread covered practically everything already. oh well.

Better late than never, eh Archangel?

Besides other people may be having problems with them pesky Sirines so they may be glad of the interest in an old posting

At least all the Sirines in my Baldur's Gate reality are dead...(cue evil laughter)

Let's make this simple for people, just play a HALFLING.
Great Magic Resistance, and are just great in general!

What if you don't want to play one of the small runts for one reason or another?

Halfling won't get it done. In my last time through (I'm in SOA now) I had a Halfling F/T. He was handy for taking out the Sirines, but not because of his magic resistance, because he was a thief.
I scouted ahead with my thief, hiding in shadows. When I found a Sirine, I would backstab it, doing major damage, then continue to attack until charmed. Once the charm wore off, I would do it again (either by flat out attacking, or running away and hiding again).
Even though he was a halfling, he usually still got charmed.

firstly its pretty stupid to run straight at them...
use weopens such as bolts of lightning and arrows of detonation
also if any of you people are charmed, make sure everyone carries some sort of charming ability

Actually, running straight at them is a good option. They don't last long in hand to hand combat. Beats standing still and getting your people charmed.
