How to get kick-attacks with a monk in IWD2

- Tested very shortly
- Only tested with male human monk, but female human should be similar
- I haven't tested what would happen if you gave your monk armor or weapons

1. Download both Near Infinity and Dale Keeper 2 .
2. Use Dale Keeper 2 to change your monk's appearence from 'Fighter Male Human' to 'Monk Male Human'.
3. With Near Infinity extract the BAM-files 'CHMM1A2.BAM' and 'CHMM1A4.BAM'.
4. Rename 'CHMM1A2.BAM' to 'CHMM1A1.BAM' and 'CHMM1A4.BAM' to 'CHMM1A3.BAM' (this will probably cause those two fist attacks not to be performed but who cares).
5. Put both renamed files into your override folder.

- For female human monk the files should be 'CHFM1A2.BAM' and 'CHFM1A4.BAM'

Just a quick request. Do a little test on the female version and see if it works. Can we get non human monk animations in the same way using the other races files too? I would like my dwarf monk to do the same.

 

Yes, it works with female humans, too. Unfortunately, it won't work with other races as there are no appropriate animations available (which was appearently the reason the human monk animations from BG2 weren't enabled).

Here are various utlitites that help in to create BAM-files. Maybe someone would like to create appropriate animations for the other races (1x left foot, 1x right foot).

 

Will it effect my recent monk or shall I start a new one?

 

No need to create a new monk. It will work with existing ones as there will just be an animation replaced.

 

could someone tell me what Dale Keeper 2 is? and where I could get it from if I would like it?
