game gets slow in goblin warrens (chap 1)

    When I get to the lower levels of the Goblin warrens, my game slows down to painful levels - it gets very choppy. It gets fine if you go back up to higher levels again.

    I tried tweaking with the performance mods on graphics and sound, but didn't help.

    This happened with my first party, and I got bored of trying to fix it, and wanted to tweak my party anyway, so I started my 2nd party, and am back at the warrens with the same problem.

    Has anyone experienced anything similar, or know how to solve it? I am running on a Win2000 laptop, but I haven't had similar problems anywhere else in the game.

    I believe that there is a fix for this problem in the "Icewind Dale II" section of this web site. Just look in:
