Power attack and cleave work for a monk's unarmed attacks, right?

The advantage of giving a druid a monk level is that the wisdom based AC bonus carries over to your shapeshifts. If you dont want to shift then armour is going to be better for reasons stated above, but otherwise the monk level is great.

Monks gain +2 to all saving throws?

Goon, yeah. While most classes get +2 to one or two different saving throws at 1st level, Monks get +2 to all of them.

I guess the best "Save Master" in the game would be a Dwaven Paladin 1/Monk X with maximum WIS and CHA.

Since you have a human Druid/monk you could add a lvl of dreadmaster later on for the quest-bonus and a lvl of fighter or ranger (i suppose your monk/druid is lawful neutral so barb won't be an alternative) to be able to use all weapons. After 20 lvls druid you won't get much more than some quite worthless shapeshifts and some extra power to some of your spells so you could add more other lvls. a good endgame druid could look like this: monk1/Fighter2-4/Ranger1/Dreadmaster1/druidX

Please elaborate about this quest-bonus (don't spoil too much, but LMK what chapter I need to add a level by if I want this ;) ). And why would I want to add a Fighter or Ranger level as well? My point is that I want to advance in Druid spells as much as possible.

LOL! What chapter do I need a level of Dreadmaster before then? ;)

Also: Are the Wildshapes any good in an unmodded game, or am I better off just going single-classed as a Druid?

I still belive you would be best of to just make a random party first and paly through and worry about pwoergaming after you have familiarised yourself more with the game.

Then you could actually figure out what chapter you needed to be at yourself. much more satisfactionary.

Well if raptor won't spoil then I guess his resistance to the dark side should not go unrewarded. I won't spoil either :tie:

Wildshapes are good because they mean that you need not bother about your physical stats. Since your Str, Dex and Con will be SET as per the wild shape, you can concentrate on the other stats during creation.

If you make a Bard[12]/Druid[18] let me tell you there is nothing funnier than seeing a wild boar singing 'Ballad of the Three Heroes'.

    LOL, alrighty then.

BTW, spoil me this, Batman: Is the added quest worth the lost level of character advancement?

The lost lvl might not be worth it if you plan on playing just normal mode. After you've taken 20 druid-lvls you have 4 castings in the higher spell-lvls (+ the ones from your wiz-bonus). I think you'll get one more casting at around lvl 25. In normal mode in a 4-6 person party you'll probably end up somewhere between lvl 16-22. Then all druid-lvls matter. If you plan on playing HOF-mode you'll probably reach the lvl-cap which is 30 or end up near it. Then the druid-lvls after lvl 20 aren't that important and might be changed to other lvls.
With your monk-lvl you'll can use axes and druids can use polearms so the fighter lvl won't give you much more than an extra feat and the ability to use heavy armor and the ranger lvl gives you the ability to dual-wield which is not that useful but the later druidlvls won't give you much either.
Consider them only if you plan on playing HOF-mode.

    Holy run-on sentence Batman!

    j/k thanks.

It looks like the way to get the most out of the game is to go through it twice, once on normal, then on HoF mode. I'll give that a try.
