The title says it all. He's killing me! How do I knock this sucker off? I can hurt him, but not enough, before I run out of summons and buffs.

Agreed, he was tough. Weird, the first time I played through the game I didn't even get to meet him. Anyways, I prepared with as many summons as possible before he arrived, cast spells to avoid my members to become confused (don't remember spell names), and a few reloads :) It's immune to most spells, but if I recall correctly, it does take some damage from the disintegrate spell although it makes the saving throw. So my sorcerer cast this spell, and used arrows in between with +6 piercing damage I think.

However, this was not in HoF mode.

Get the maximum 6 summons possible before you put in the last steele.
Remember to cast Protection from Evil and Resist Fear on your team. However the second does have a very short period so you might have to recast it. If you have Vghotan's collars then put them on your frontliner and main offensive caster.

Make sure every one is using magical weapons, IIRC atleast +3.
Have only the main tank with max HP in front of him, the remaining using only ranged or thrown weapons and spells.
Cast Stoneskin, Champion's Strength, Bulls Strength, Protection from Acid and Executioner's Eyes on him along with anything else you can think of.
If he gets to 30%HP then replace with alternate frontliner while this one starts with thrown weapons.
Use Mass Heals to ensure both stay alive. Ressurection can also be used as Heal.

If you have the time you can cast spells like Haste, Bless, Recitation, Emotion:Hope, Lower Resistance. Only then will finger of death and others have a hope of working.
Keep the summons up. Use Gate only as a last resort and then too over to the south of the Dragon.

Dont bother with acid damage, try cold instead.

Wait for Jukka to come across this topic

Party: Disintegration. Solo: either that or fire spells. If you have enough casters with fire magic, you could make it as well. I don't remember to what other elements the dragon is vulnerable. And attacking him in melee isn't really a good idea - unless rushing quickly to finish it off when it's near-death.

Nothing here that a couple of Lower Resistances followed by pretty much whatever can't handle. I'd suggest Malison, Prayer, Recitation and finally Finger of Death or Wail of Banshee.

A warrior/mage could probably just beat the overgrown lizard to pulp - solo - by keeping Mirror Image up with repeated castings.

If you want to take him down easily cast some protection from fear spell on your high level tankers put them up close so they can attack and have your summons distract (From Cleric) then have Scorcer or Wizard cast lower resistance then cast finger of death and he should be dead if not tell me so i will figure another way out

Many thanks for the detailed replies. I cast Malison and Lower Resistance successfully several times, but Finger of Death and Disintegrate still didn't kill him. The dragon's resistance may be much higher in HOF mode. Didn't try Wail of the Banshee. I also forgot Resist Fear, although Bardsong countered Panic okay, except when the Sorcerer/Bard got panicked. I didn't try Cold spells, but I will. Lightning did fair damage (although the dragon resisted more than he took), but Chain Lightning also damaged members of my own party for some reason. I was leery of the heavy-duty Fire spells for fear of damaging my summons. (Note to Shrikant: Why do you suggest Gate as a last resort only? Assuming you've put Protection from Evil on everyone, including your other summons, it should work as well as any other summons. On the other hand, I did use it and got whipped, although he never attacked my party.) I like Jukka's Mirror Image suggestion. It sounds suicidal but fun; so my Sorcerer/Paladin will give it a shot. Cheers!

Of course, the BY FAR easiest method is to get someone with a decent AC to cut the lizard down to size..

Try AC 70+ for starters. How? Read the JUPP for details. (Available here at Sorcerer's Place)

Got him! Fire Shield, Blue, worked well with the mirror imaged Sorcerer/Paladin--the dragon hurt himself more than he hurt me. Plus summons, lower resistance, and several cold/electric spells from the rest of the party. Actually, it was surprisingly easy. Thanks again for the useful replies.
