I realy like names with ui, ae, ii, gh, kh, ly, sz enz in it.
Sometimes I choose old-dutch or scandinavian names or mixes. Hildegard, Madelein, Mareijke, Ghysbrecht, Wilhelm etc I don't use them often though.

Aesgareth (ToB) is a nice one, but I don't use it. Same with Szass Tam, Hrothgar and many others.
Ghardaluihen, Attamacilli (2 swords in quenya, at least something like that)

Elaellur is my current char.

Dyrmangos - from a book meaning zombie form of a necromancer
Lupin - Italian variant for wolf. usually used for druids.
Naro Wildmace - Drow cleric. made up by some name generating site. i thought it was pretty cool

any name from another language is cool because they sound different from our own. (bit corny?)

 

I like Mostal de Sor for my Wizard

And Piffer the Fast for my rogue

But the coolest name i´ve ever come uo with was Callisan the Pure for my Female Paladin. She kicked but...

 

Mostal de Sor sounds like a Jewish first name name with a Spanish last name

Speaking about strange names and paladins, mine (IWD2) - yes, I finally started playing , is called Rochir o Nelvarad.

 

Aias Telamonius (Human, Paladin of Helm. This was the name of the ancient king of Salamine, one of the most fearsome greek warriors in the war of Troy)
Hans Ulrich Rudel (Wild elf, fighter. One of the most fanatical nazis but on the other hand a great soldier. I used it just because I like it as a sound, I'm not a nazi )
Suzana de Marque (Half-elf, Watcher of Helm. I took this from a novel of Louis d'Amour)

I find it interesting that you named your character after a female Greek god.

 

He didn't. He named his character after a drow asassin..... Why is he a tiefling though?

 

I came up with a cool name yesterday when I restarted my IWD2 game.

Malyin Shadowshear, a female, human Rouge 1/ Necromancer X. That's the best name I've come up with in awhile.

 

Nxla, are you sure that Artemis is not a female greek goddess?

 

Hm, as Artemis was not in that Xena series I am not surprised at all.
