    [IMG] Right,
After a few test-runs through IWD2, i'm setting up my party for the real play. I won't go into detail about it, since we've got god-knows how many "Do you like my Party?" newbie topics. Suffice to say it's an Human/Halfling Neutral/Chaotic party with a Sorcerer/Bard, Ranger, Ranger and Cleric.

I don’t usually play with Clerics, since I prefer Druids for my Healing and such, yet this time I wanted one just to see which one would handle the game better. Yet I’ve encountered one problem….the Turn Undead.

Upon playing the “Undead In Targos” mod, from Weimer (changes the goblin attack to an Undead Attack), I realised my Cleric cannot Turn Undead. He is a Cleric of Lathander, and so should receive a bonus to Turn Undead as well. I faced a Wraith and two Skeletons, pressed the button Turn Undead, watched him do the casting animation, yet nothing happened. No message in the box or anything.

What’s the problem? And FYI I’ve tried this without mods too.

You don't get a text message. If you make a succesfull roll (dependant on CHA iirc not sure though) the monsters will have yellow circles around them, and will be running away from you. (Assuming your Cleric is Neutral or Good)

[IMG] Charisma lies at 14. Wisdom at 17. I figured this wouldnt be a problem with his CHA because of the Turn Undead bonus Morninglords of Lathander get. He's also got the Improved Turning feat (iirc).
Still, these are Undead for Level 1 parties, I can't understand why it doesn't work. I'm suspecting a bug here.

I have an Aasimar Morninglord with about the same stats.
If I click on the Turn Undead-button, my cleric moves his hands while a blue/white sphere appears. It takes a very short time and nothing is mentioned in the textbox.
I tried this in an area with no enemies so I couldn't see if it actually worked. I'm affraid it won't, though.

This might not add much to your knowledge, except that there are more people who don't see anything in the text/message box. :heh:

Yeah, if you're playing "normal" difficultly, and your cleric isn't at least turning them yellow, then there's a problem.

To be honest, I'm going to say your wisdom needs to be 15 or upwards. You should STILL be turning the undead yellow, but I'm just saying you need to put your points into wisdom as you get them.

Either the enemies are scripted in as "immune", or something.

The best Cleric i've been able to come up with is a dreadmaster of the bane with double ranked enchantment magic. he tears the game up.

yeh, in yqougs cave, i couldn't turn undead at all. i had wisdom 18.

I am not sure how the turning of undead really works but when ever i turn undead,
I usually destroy the undead outright. For some they get yellow circles and run away.
Others nothing happens. So my guess is that your clerics' level and charisma bonus do play a role. And also there is the random success. Sometimes it happens ,sometimes it doesn't

I remember the first time I used the skill was in the Ice Temple. About level 10 I popped the shadows, so I assume that it worked fine. I have noticed that at higher game difficulty levels it seems to work less often. Are you on insane game difficulty?

[IMG] Actually, it's on Normal. After looking into it; it seems it's a semi-known bug. *sigh*

Still stuck with it? Would be an annoying bug if there was more undead...

[IMG] Whenever you decide to turn undead, the charisma+stat modifier + some others are counted together against the undeadz, in Icewind Dale 2 you must have higher than the undeads hit dice...

[IMG] I don't think you understand; Turn Undead won't work. Nothing to do with the type of cleric. Anwyay, I levelled him up to Lev.5, and it still didn't work.

I'm not really sure where I go next, I'll probably have to hack into the Game Files to fix it. *sigh*

I'm sorry to hear about your problem...I have a Morninglord of Lathander lawful good cleric and she is incredible at turning undead...they don't get a yellow circle under them and flee...the explode into dust. Same when my Paladin of Ilmater turns undead. I know this is obvious but, did you get the patch?

    [IMG] I did. :p
I resorted to Shadow Keeper, and played around a bit. Then I went into the game files and played aboub a bit there too. I found the problem was with a mini-mod I made for Clerics in BG2 had been saved into the IWD2 folder instead!

After de-hacking it, everything's cool now; and boy, is that Morninglord lass whuppin' ass.
