[IMG] Could I get some suggestions for the weapons my blade is gonna use? I want to use a halberd and a katana for sure. Need extra ideas... please do not recommend any ranged weapon, cause I won't use any. Also, please include any slots in fighting styles. One more thing, would you recommend single weapon style, or sword and shield style, since it does not hinder my off-hand...

Go single handed weapon style for sure.

Sword ans shield only improves your AC vs Missiles and you can get items (Boots of Avoidance, Girdle of piercing) that do the same thing.

Also having to de-equip a shield to use your Halberd all the time will get tedious

Well, you're not going to dual wield so you don't have to worry about putting any proficencies into two weapon style...

Put + in Halberd and + in Katana, then put + in single weapon style or two handed weapon style, your choice. If you can get both, even better. Later when you level up after getting all of these I suggest choosing another type of blade, maybe scimitar or short sword for belm +2 and kudane +2...

As for what weapons you're actually going to use, I suggest ending the game with the Wave Halberd and Celestial Fury, you could switch off Celestial for Dak'Kon's Zerth if you have to bonus merchants installed. Other good Halberds are Dragon's Breath +4, Dragon's Bane +3, Blackmist +4, and Duskblade +2[Thanks creudzfeldt-jakob :)]
,all very good, and a few adding some nice elemental damage. Dragon's Breath is like the Flail of Ages of Halberds...

  4. LS, it's the Duskblade, not Darkblade.

    Excuse ME!

No Dual Wield for a Blade? Why in Hells, he gets 3 *** in Dual-Wielding?

I just beat BG2 with a solo Blade, and he dual wielded just fine.

My advice will be the following:
    1) In order to dualwield correctly go at the Baldurdash site and get two fixes: one for the boots of speed and the other for the Offensive spin.
    2) in the offhand put Belm or Kundane for that +1 attack
    3) I use longswords, and I would advise you to keep the following selection:
Blade of Roses (+3 weapon, guess for who), Daystar, Adjatha (best one), Dragonslayer, Equaliser (eventually).
    4) As far as proficiencies go I'd use in that order: Long Swords, Two Weapon Style, Short Swords, Flail, Hammer. You really don't need anything else.

As for the AC bonus via Single Weapon - don't bother - you've got defensive spin. And after Spellhold, when you get Ring of Free Action, you can move while using Defensive Spin.

Hey, hey hey! I would have prefered him to dual wield as well, but he wanted to use Halberds, which is a far more original thing to do IMO. Who am I to tell him otherwise? ;)

You won't dual wield? Then you shouldn't have chosen a blade, man! Why not chose a skald instead. A blade is ment to dualwield I think. Use two katanas....But if you don't want to use two weapons so be it, I recommend to take katana ** and single weapon style * .

I just used the blade for the offensive spin, lore, and maybe the playhouse, since I never used a bard before. I don't really like to sit back and sing while my team is at the front line.
