    Hi to all !

...as I played IWD2 last time about two years ago I could need some help with the dreadmaster quest at Kuldahar pass...

    AFAIR...

...if you kill hiepherous and have a dreadmaster in your party he/she gets +2 WIS...

...and AFAIR this worked fine last time

In my actual game I get a message that tyrannus is satisfied with my dreadmaster that he killed a false priest who left the path of the black hand - but the dreadmaster don't get the WIS-boni!

having searched the forum there seems to be some experience on this quest but no advice how this quest works exactly...

so I'm not sure if I have done something accidently right when playing IWD2 last time...

...or if I just remember wrong!

    - so when do you get the WIS-boni - directly after killing hiepherous - or later?

    - and does the the dreadmaster have to talk to hiepherous at the 1st or 2nd encounter

    - are there any special dialogue options to activate this quest ?

    - do you need some min. talking skills ?

    ...thanks for your help !

    Welcome to the boards! ;)

What's with all the spaces between text? Your post is very hard to read, please make them more compact in the future. Also, what's AFAIR supposed to mean?

As for your question, I've checked a few walkthroughs and they don't mention any wisdom bonuses for killing Hiepherus. Where exactly did you see mentioned that you should get any?

...you should only get the WIS-bonus with a dreadmaster of bane...

...and AFAIR (as far as I remember) I get it last time (but that's about 2 years ago, so I can't remember exactly what I did when meeting hierpherous)

...is also mentioned in the JUPP-description but without any advise what to do!

Did you have your dreadmaster do the talking initially?

"Did you have your dreadmaster do the talking initially?"

I'm not sure about the first encounter directly after entering the map - but definetly for the 2nd conversation before you kill him - even made sure that my dreadmaster did the kill herself !

Was your Dreadmaster a multiclass? What were her levels?

I havent done this part yet but most such quests check your levels in every class. And what were her Wis stats?

    she is a drow dreadmaster 7 - rogue 2 - fighter 2 with 15 WIS

but MC shouldn't be the problem cause I think that I had a more or less similar build last time and get the bonus...

...or better said, I saw at some point of the game that I had 2 more WIS then I should have - and afterwards read about the dreadmaster quest ;)

Do you remember how does it work exactly ?

    - has your dreadmaster talked to hiepherous in the 1st encounter

    - what talking skill does he have ?

-when did you get the bonus exactly - directly after killing hiepherous or at some point later ?

allright, i've done that quest several times and i never had trouble. my patch version is 1.02 GER.

You don't have to put your Dreadmaster anywhere special in your formation ... he automatically gets into position to talk to the fallen dreadmaster. Also, your dreadmaster does not have to kill Hiepherus to complete the quest.

Depending on what you say to him in the initial dialogue you can avoid the summoned undeads but as they are easy prey, just insult him as usual ;)

...also have 1.02 GER - but Hiepherous talks at both encounters to the PC next to him...

...I managed to get my dreadmaster talking to him at the 2nd encounter but don't get the bonus when killing him !

...does she also have to talk to him at the 1st encounter ?

...and when exactly do you get the bonus ?

i think it is crucial to have the dreadmaster doing the initial dialogue...
i used the ::: formation always and my dreadmaster was position 3 or 4 any time i had one ... so second row left or right. but anytime he was placed in front of hiepherus and did the talking ... strange.

For me, my dreadmaster did not have the initial dialogue with him, but did talk to him before the fight. The bonus came as soon as the battle(all enemies slain) was over.

I've never had any problems with this particular quest. If it is of any help, my Dreadmasters have usually occupied the first two party slots, but I honestly doubt that this would have any effect on the quest outcome. As for the first round of talking, I've done the talk with the person that was selected the first time, and never got any problems there either.

You get the WIS bonus right after the final battle with Hiepherus and his troops is over. A text "Bane is pleased" or something like that comes up, and you get the bonus right there and then. As noted above, only Dreadmasters of Bane get this bonus.

Oh, AFAIR = As Far As I Remember :)

...doesn't work for me in this game...-...no idea why!!!

...have a few mods installed (some of the ease of use moduls, the BG2 bonus merchants and the Targos mod) but they shouldn't affect this part of the game...

...but I think I will use Dalekeeper for the +2 WIS-bonus as my build depends on them!
