    Why would you want to cheat? It ruins the game, in my opinion, especially if you haven't played through it at least once.

    Yeah, it's much more fun to get stuck at in chapter 2 because you missed the a component to Oswald's stupid ship spell, the item disappeared since you dropped it (and there's only one copy of it, of course) and you don't have a backup save anywhere near that point in the game. Of course, I'd just be a rotten cheater if I consoled in the components, so I'll keep my gamer ethics and restart the game ;) . Trust me, the console has a definite purpose in that game.

    Well, maybe you should actually look at your inventory before you decide to clean it out, hmm? :rolleyes:

    Anyways, I'm sure it has its place and all, but there's nothing wrong with playing it straight and narrow.

    Go to http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/IWD2/iwd2_cheats.php

    " To enable cheat codes, go to the game's configuration and enable the cheat option. Next, while playing, press [ctrl] + [tab] to open the console window. Then enter a cheat. "

    On the FAQs page, Dan Simpson has an item FAQ that has all of the item codes in it, use that.

    I play for fun. The first time I play I go by the book. After that whatever makes it more fun for me. What is a cheat (retorical question) Ans. anything that I do not approve of. :p

    IWD II has a number of bugs that can only be fixed by console commands. It's hardly cheating to fix something that's not working correctly. Sheesh.

    Danrand, are you sorted out now? I know you've been struggling with that hook horror bug for awhile. I had the same problem my first time through and was frustrated at having to use the console. I hope the console command helps you - please let us know if you manage to get it all working properly.

    Yup the console cheat worked and I'm past the hook horror issue..whew. Thanks for the advice ( and for backing me up).

    Goddess: I guess you missed my earlier posts but since you did help me out with the iron golem issue, I'll walk away from your comment.

    Anyway its a great day so lets have some fun!!


    Oh yeah..one quick question - I'm on Chap 4 and I have a truckload of assorted gems/rings etc..Should I keep a select few ( which ones)for any future use?

    [​IMG] :( Ok I'm stuck on the hook horrors too....first time round it all went swimmingly....but now i have started again with a new party and I can't find any left over either!

    Now being a bit of a computer illiterate deity, i have no idea where the configuration thing is on the IWD2 programme to enable the cheat code to help me enter the console command and get past this bloody pain!!

    Can anyone help me please? If you can, could you talk me through it, as i really am a dumbo when it comes to computers!
