I turned my party Invisible before any of my party attacked on the top of the War Tower during the fight with the Cabal and all of them saw right through the Invisibility. I have had occasions like that happen at other times during the game too.

try the improved invinsibility spell, or maybe your characters have A.I. scripts which made them attacked earlier.

Chances are the enemy has something like true-seeing active. Their are many ways\spells that pierce invisibility, and some boss-type baddies tend to forget that their not suppost to see you. Either way, invisibility will be ineffective.

Its a scripted encounter. As soon as you get to that level the dialogues kick in and then the attack. The half-dragons can probably see thru your invisibility and the spells cast in the first round by your enemies are all buffs.
So everyone is alerted to your presence and this starts the fight.

It's a designer's decision: some bosses in this game are equipped with a ring that enable them to see through invisibility (even when they aren't supposed to), so the players won't be able sneak pass them and screw up the whole plot.

But IMO this is more harm than good because most ambush tactics are useless in boss fight now.

It could be because your move silently skill is too low. They probably "heard" you moving around; therefore, you are revealed to them. Besides, if you attack while invisible, it will go away.
