Where's the manual?

I just bought the 3-in-1 ID collection, but ID1 doesn't work for some reason. Never mind, ID2 sounded a lot better anyway - but I can't find any manual on the ID2 CDs. Am I being completely blind?

Meanwhile, I have a couple of pressing questions, since I'm thinking of restarting the game with a better party.

    1) Do a Svirfnebulin Monk's 2 spell resistances stack or are they completely redundant?

    2) Where the game just mentions 'saving rolls' (ie. the one's boosted by a paladin's charisma), exactly which rolls does it include? For eg., would reflex saves count? What about standard combat chances to hit through armour?

    3) Why don't I seem to be getting cleric domain spells after level 1? I have a drow Tempus cleric at about level 8. The guides I've read (not to mention spell descriptions) give the impression she should get a new domain spell every time she learns new levels of magic, or something like that - currently she can cast up to level 4, but she still only has bless.

    Thanks all.

Manual can be found on this site:

    http://www.sorcerers.net/Games/dl.php?s=IWD2&f=IWD2/IWD2_english.zip

    1) Dunno. I would assume it does though - others may give a better answer!

    2) Saving throws are Fortitude, Reflex and Will - so a Paladin will get bonuses to these 3. Saving throws only appear to work against magic spells.

    3) Have you selected your spells from the spellbook? Like a wizard, divine casters have to "prepare" spells. There should be a "Cleric" tab and a "Domain" tab - each with a list of spells to the right (those can can select for preparation). In the middle, there are 24 (3x8) slots (you'll never get that many!) where your "prepared" spells can be placed, ready to be cast later, i.e. after a rest.

I don't have the collection but I'd try searching after pdf documents an all CDs of the collection.

    1) AFAIK they stack.

    2) There are reflex saves, fortitude saves and will saves. Read the manual once you've found it.

3)You have to memorize the domain spells. Switch from the ormal cleric spells to the domain spells for this.
You should be able to memorize a domain spell of each casting level. You have two spell choices for each level.

    1) Yes spell resistances stack. SR don't work against all spells so you won't be totally immune against magic but combined with the high saving throws from the monk class that makes a great build for fighting mages.

Ok, thanks. My new svirf monk is... well, hardly kicking arse - but he's nodding smugly to himself in the corner.

My new Paladin on the other hand, is muttering most unpaladinlike comments about me after I failed to notice that she can't multiclass to barbarian as she planned.

My comp just doesn't recognise the IWD1 CD's existence.

Another question about the game, btw - does bard song affect summons?
