"Mirror Image" is much better than "Blur" for sure. "Mirror Image" protects you whatever you are attacked by where "Blur" only gives you a %20 chance to dodge the attack.
Be sure to cast both "Shield and Mirror Image" simultaneously to counter "Magic Missile and Mordenkainen's Force Missiles" which are the ultimate anti-mirror image spells in IWD2.

 

Generaly speaking it depends, if you are being attacked by many weak enemies you can use blur since it does not run out on a per attack basis, mirror image is the best overall since it gives you a 100% chance to dodge the attack and since you will not (hopefully) be going into direct combat it will buy you the time to run or unload the spells, it's also especially handy against archers.

 

Finally another Aussie, And a brizzy guy as well.

Mirror image is by far the better spell. It actually sticks to the original spell discription form BG1. It really is only a deterent for archers, and is a REALLY good spell to have with your bard, as when you want to get into the melee battle with your war chant of sith, you dont want to be hurt.

Mirror Image makes you immune to even your own 100 damage DBFireball. So I guess that it is better than blur. I don't ever remember using blur, although the spell animation is cool...

 

Mirror image is more superior, definately. Besides DBFireball, it also seems to work with skull trap and the normal fireball spell: so you don't need the likes of sunfire spells - you just cast fireball at your feet and it takes one image away. Excellent spell for frontline melee warriors / spellswords of course, while your spell casters chuck in fireballs etc.

If it's a fight where you don't feel like the odds are against you, then blur is a good choice. Simply because it may very well save you some hitpoints, and you're not wasting your mirror.

Mirror is the one where if you feel threated, and you're going to be unleashing some fairly powerful spells, then use it. It's the "superior" spell, in the sense that your dodge is 100%. It only lasts a few attacks, though, unlike blur which is on a timer.

Mirror is a very focused-use spell. Whereas, blur is a much more general.
