[IMG] While I have been enjoying playing this in the last few weeks, I have run across one minor little annoyance. Whenever I try to create a short folk wizard/sorcerer, I alway get a bald dwarf with a long beard as my onscreen character icon. Now this wouldn't bother me so much, except I get this when I'm trying to create a Halfling Sorceress.

Does anybody know how to be able to go and change the onscreen character icon?

Wash the CDs and reinstall? Looks like some file is broken. Dwarven women do have beards, but halfling ones look like very short humans and don't have any facial hair.

[IMG] Well, I just tried it again on my wife's computer and got the same icon. So either my disc has something wrong on it or they just didn't expect people to do many halfing/dwarf/gnome spell slingers. Oh well, I guess my halfling sorceress will have to live starting as a bard.

As for the sig, sorry about that, on the other board that uses this board program everybody tends to put a 'cute' or otherwise nonsical tag in the sig, and I was following old habits. Guess I will nip that one around here.

Strange, I think I have used a halflling sorcerer(almost never use wizards) but he was non-bearded. Gotta re-install IWDII and check some day.

And about the sig, not problem, just don't let it happen again. We have very strictly laws here and if you goes against the too much you will end like Boo the Great, Bassilus, DarkCroll or Istari of Thay and more. They were all banned. But no more off topic-chatter here. Otherwise I will be the next on the list. :)

[IMG] Dalekeeper may be the answer you're looking for. Among the many things its GUI will edit, your chr portrait/on-screen-look are available...

[IMG] Thanks for pointing out Dalekeeper. Unfortunately, I went in it and found that there is no 'mage halfling' of either sex in the list of 'appearnce's. And, in it, Mage Female Gnome is the same bearded dwarf looking icon as I was talking about.

Oh well, guess I'll just have to make do.

[IMG] You can use any of the other halfling avatars, they will work as well because they will always keep the first levels avatar.

IE: If you start with one level of rouge in halfling and then levels as a sorcerer, you continue having the rouge icon and you will still be allowed spellcasting.

That's pretty much what I did except that I started with a Bard. To me, it's just one of those things I roll my eyes since it's pretty much assured that it was a case that the programmers figured that not enough people would play that type of character to justify creating the toon.

Yeah I know. They probably thought that we would make them a rouge, bard, fighter, paladin, cleric and/or ranger but waddyanow?

    BTW - "the Toon"? LOL

In one of the online rpg's (an older one called 'The Realm'), people usally refered to their character, especially the onscreen icon, as their toon. Of course, in Realm, the character does have a much more toonish look to it. Gotten to be a habit though, and I'm sure that if I ever get a system capable of playing SWGalaxies, I'll be calling my character in there my toon.

As for the original topic, I guess I'm one of the oddballs who thinks its fun to play something odd like a halfling wizard. On the other hand, I can see where they didn't see having every possible combination of character covered for cost reasons. Kinda wish they would cover that in an expasion or something though.

This is really way off topic, but when I was still playing The Realm (some, uh, 5 years ago?) we called them avatars. Never heard anyone calling them toons.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand.
