I think it's the one which brings Ribald Barterman from Athkathla to the spine of the world.

Did you install he patch after you installed the mod?
Anyways, if you can see the responce options just tell him you want to buy stuff from him. Then he has one dialogue, click OK and you get to the shopping page.
Now if you can't see the item descriptions too then ...

it was the first time i've ever installed a mod so it was a little fresh to me. At first, I had difficulty trying to get them to work. Then I went back to follow the instructions again.

What i may have done; I didn't initiate the "run" process (the dos perspective and when it asks you which modifications you want to install, etc) and just installed everything before i initiated the actual patch. The mods i installed were: the ease of use, the undead targos, starting party, and bonus merchants via weid@berkeley.edu....such and such. Also, i read that phaen was supposed to drop and "iron" 1/4 staff...he didn't.

The undead were there, my party started with halberds, the random treasures are there, and the "bosses" are either undead, have the blink spell enabled, or what appears to be the "moon" or "phantom" blade enabled. Tough little bastards for a 3 man crew.

so, what do you suggest? uninstalling the mods and patch and starting from scratch? I would have to unequip all my gear in order to prevent any quirks, right?

one more thing, how do i disable the visual for the cloak of displacement? I believe it's the one you find in the underdark.

    thanks for the replies, fellas.

Yes, the official patch should always be applied before any mods. So uninstall everything, then apply the official patch, and then all the mods. And DON'T install every component of the Ease of Use, you almost certainly don't want some of them. You should make sure about every component that you actually want to install it.

And yea, I don't remember off-hand all the things those mods do, but if you just have items in your inventory (not equipped), it'll be fine. Exporting the characters then and starting the game from scratch would be the smartest thing to do.

As for the Cloak of Displacement, you can't... it'd require a small edit on the item itself, but I don't know if any mods do it. We've got fixes for such items for BG1 and BG2, but not IWD2. If you PM Baronius he could probably whip it up for you pretty quick.

    Did it!

Didn't install ALL the components, just the few i wanted. By disabling the random treasure I was able to purchase the "tower shield" that was deleted before. The only mod i can't install (something about the correct text not found) was the starting parties mod. no biggie.

Awesome stuff from the new bonus merchant....I may have to enable the $$$ code to get 'em. Does the inventory change for this guy throught the game? Later on I will be able to purchase these items w/out any guilt i.e. if i don't cheat too much. thanks again for all your help, bud.

    I'll contact Baronius, too.

    SLAY ON!!

iirc Ribald carries the same inventory when you meet him in Kuldahar. But thats Chapter 5.
For now the cheesiest items there are the Jansen armour and exploding skull. You should easily be able to afford them by the time you have to leave with Oswald for Chapter 2.
