    Hi.

Planning to create 3 member party in Icewind Dale 2

    ---
    Aasimar (backup fighter and trapfinder)
    Paladin/Rogue

    Drow (mage/healer)
    Sorcerer/Cleric

    (TANK fighter)
Shield Dwarf Fighter OR HalfOrc Barbarian (whichone?)
    ---

I would be thankful if I could get some comments.

Also I do have a questions:

    1) Can I use Drow as a main talker (negotiator) or is ths subrace nogood for this.

    2) Can paladin be rogue at all? And how effective this kind of char is when he/she needs to do thieves work?

    3) Is it any difference if I play male or female char?

    4) If its possible do some suggestions what kind of stats would be best for those 3 char's.

    Thank You all in advance.

    1) Sure--Drow can also have starting CHA of 20, which is great for a talker.

    2) Take your rogue lvls first, because pallys stop advancing if you multi to any class other than their favored classes (read the descriptions).

    3) If your drow is female, then cleric is her favored class (read: no experience penalties), otherwise no difference.

    4) I read somewhere that if your talker has (minimum) INT 16, WIS 14, CHA 16, it opens up the most dialogue options...

In my opinion you should make your 'tank' a paladin/fighter your drow a pure sorcerer, and then your last character take a few lvls in rogue and then go cleric.

Yeah, multi-classed spellcasters (like your proposed Sorcerer / Cleric) don't seem to work so well under the 3.5 rules in Icewind Dale II because you just end up being stuck with a load of low level spells. In a 3 man party, you want someone to be able to access high level spells.

A fairly standard workable 3 man party based on your ideas would be:

    Half Orc Fighter 4 / Barbarian X
Aasimar Paladin 2 / Sorcerer X (max out Charisma and do all the talking - this char will then get great saving throws from Divine Grace)
Drow Rogue 4 / Cleric X (not sure on what the minimum amount of Rogue levels would be. Remember that this char needs WIS and DEX and also has to be female)

Balancing out a 3 man party is always tricky but anything is possible given that many people have completed the game solo. Remember that there aren't actually that many really bad traps in IWDII and you don't get XP for disarming them so a Rogue is less essential in this game than in BGII.

Just go with whatever seems fun to you.

I have a Aasimer Pally/Sorc. in my game at the moment. He is unstoppable.

Yeah, Aasimar Paladin / Sorcerer is a favourite solo character so if you have him, you can pretty much put whoever else you want in your party and you'll do OK.

Although Chevalier would suggest that the Paladin / Wizard is more uber - but that this another discussion.....

I played a drow sorceress (evil) for a while and she got great dialogue options that I never saw with other speakers. Too bad the rest of the party was pretty crappy, but you should have better luck with your group. I hope you won't be stretching yourself too thin with a sorcerer/cleric combo, but I'm a strong fan of six player parties.

I played a human barbarian and he kicked ass; easily the most powerful player in a pretty good party.

whats Your Aasimar Paladin Sorcerer stats are ? And what skills / feats ?

Cause if I want to have high INT WIS CHA (to use it as negotiator) then this paladin can not be a decent fighter.
