Favorite sword type

So anyway what's your favorite type of swords. I have 2, Scimitars and Long Swords.

I've mostly avoided swords of any kind in games because I don't like cliches. But if I must choose, I'd always take a long sword.

 

Katanas. If there were any. Therefore I use axes, two-handed and single-handed.

 

I'm a huge fan of swords so longsword is my favorite.

 

Mordenkainen's Sword. Who wouldn't like to Whack anyone within your field of vision with a magical sword?

Black Blade of Disaster. Who doesn't want a weapon with a +5 enchant, +10 to hit, deals at Least 2d12dmg, AND makes your enemy take a fortitude save vs Disintegration..

So in short, my favorite Sword type is Magical Swords.. ^_^

 

Great Sword with character with high Str.18-20 and the More/Better Criticals and Cleave feats (I just luv to see the body parts fly)

 

Improved Critical and Cleave/Greater Cleave. (Sorry..)

And if you want Body Parts.. Try a halberd/two-handed axe..

Short Swords. Because NOBODY likes them (let alone uses them)

 

Scimitars. Too bad they are not curved, as they are supposed to be. If falchions were included in the game, I would have chosen that as my favourite sword. I prefer short swords for dual wielding. It makes more sense and it looks pretty tricky.
I prefer blunt weapons over swords, though. My cleric needs a heavy flail and a good mace to make these 'Skeleton Jaws on Ghast Puddage'

 

My favourite sword type is definately Short Sword. It's just so cool dual-wielding them. Only sword type I like more is the Katana, and they aren't in this game.

 

Exotic weapon: Bastard sword. Put that on a paladin with two points towards it and a good shield and you'll be in good shape.

 

Argh! Why are there no katanas in IWD2?!



Guess that makes my favorite sword type rather evident.

 

Speaking of swords I serched through the game and I never found the golden hert of [charname] or the holy avenger but I did find the pendon thing that you have to use to awaken the holy avenger can someone tell me where or how to get these?

You have to play HoF insane difficulty to get it. Buy it from one of the merchants in Targos town.

After you've gotten the medallion, go back to the graveyard in Kuldahar. Click on a particular unsuspicious tomb stone to call forth undeads to slice you. If you can stand the slicing, you can walk away with the sword.

 

Cool, thanks I got a bunch of HOF items now. I duplicated the golden hert of charname like 20 times and sold a bunch heh i got alot of money now.

My favorite type of sword are scimitars... but they're not curved like they should be.

 

how come noone likes two handed swords?

 

Not as many people like 2 handed swords because they like to have swords in both hands. but my archer uses one as a backup in case they get to close.

 

Because, most figure if you are going to use 2 hands per weapon,

A Halberd
A Great Axe

Will usually have better bonuses or do more damage..

(Save for Winged Blight..)

*Thinks the game should apply real life used to Bastard Swords, If you aren't Proficient with them, and use them anyways, they are supposed to Require 2h, instead of 1h.*

Still my fav is Black Blade of Disaster, Magical.

Physical; Light of Cera Sumat.
