How do I find out if I'm incurring a penalty? I'm running a female drow Rogue/Wizard, keeping the levels equal (with Rogue advancing first). So my levels are never more than one level apart. I lost the guide that came with the game, so I need to make sure that the game follows the same rules as regular D&D.

Yeah sure, so long as your levels are +/-1 of each other you suffer from no XP penalties. So if you have a Rouge[5]/Wizard[6] you can alternate adding 2 levels to each charecter and stay safe.

Now for the stupid question, why didn't you make a male and be rid of your XP penalty worries :hmm:

I'm using the Viconia portrait and soundset.

Yeah, most of the IWD2 portraits and voice sets are pretty flat... Especially after the NPC interactions of BG2.

Be glad you're playing the original version. I'm playing the german version, and some (thank god not all) of the german soundsets sound like a bunch of loonies/clowns/wimps, especially those that already came with ID1. Do male drows talk like they're all little chicken in english too?

Hmm, I think vanilla IWD2 had 1 voice for drow, and as far as I remember, it sucked big time.

The game (without d/l'd pic packs) lacks good pics for some races, like the drow. 2 pics of drow, 20+ of human and elf. And try to get a svirfnebling pic. I remember 1. The sounds...well, I've switched the char sounds off, none good set IMO.
