    [​IMG] Funny thing, you would've thought a 1st level spell like chromatic orb to stop working after chapter 3, in IWD II. But, to my complete and utter amazement, this spell was more useful than any number of Force Missiles. because of my wizard's high int (26 or so), plus greater spell focus: evocation feat, this nifty little spell had me holding Iyachtu Xvim, for goodness sake! It's amazing, but whenever I'm in a huff, throw an orb and Bob's your uncle. No one yet has failed the powerful first level allure that is Chromatic Orb!!! Except for the odd half-dragon, I've stunned and stunned many an evil-doer with this one... I highly recommend it over Magic Missile. (gasp!!! never! :D )

    [​IMG] Chromatic Orb and Magic Missile have always been my favourite level 1 spells.
    And your adventure has shown I can still trust at least on one of them.

    Chromatic Orb is always on my spell list when I play Bard or Sorcerer (ok, so that means Chromatic Orb is always on my spell list! ;) ). It's dead good. That awesome spell can really kill people if they save badly enough.

    Yea, and the cool thing is that it gets better by level, doing more and more on top of various types of extra damage. I always use it, all the time, it rocks.

    [​IMG] so.. on a whim today, I made Fyodor and Liriel from the Daughter of the Drow series (hehe), and i started out on the second level of chapter to where you meet Emma... used the character pick-n-choose screen to switch my chars.

    So, anyway, I was confronted with this horde of orcs at the mill gate, and the first weapon i used was colour spray. Knocked the beasties senseless (she's level 7 wiz) for several rounds. I nearly fell off my chair laughing it was funny seeing all those orcs sprawled out on the ground... :D

    Chromatic orb is pretty good too, but I think I like colour spray better. ;)
