This post is about the bad kits,

For fighters the Kensai and Beserker are great, but the wizard Slayer is real poor,
Just some ideas of mine are:

    Wizard Slayer:
    Better saving throws against spells,
    More magic R. ,
At a certain lvl. imunnity of lvl. 1 (and so on) spells,
    Cast Dispel Magic,
    Detect illusion like thieves

There are more classes (Bards,Thieves) who need a serious tool-up, any ideas? Please post them.

If you want good saving throws against spells, choose a resistant race for your char, like a halfling or a dwarf.

I know a great fighter specialised to fight wizards: the inquisitor paladin - he has true sight and the best dispell magic in the game. He also has immunity to hold/ charm. Though he lacks magic resistance you could give him some using the holy avenger sword, ring of gaxx and a nice amulet ...

I guess that´s the wizard slayer you´d like to have ;) If you want to take it to the max, choose a halfling or dvarven inquisitor

Yep, and a +5 sword that dispels at a hit is indeed very suitable then!

The assasin kit is very poor in comparison to the other 2 theif kit. but i would still like to know the advantage/disadvantage and opinion on the assasin kit.

I have a assassin level 11 dualed to a fighter that will, once leveled, have less hit points than you might like, but a very very solid THAC0.

    And poison. Mages beware.

And 4x Backstab. Lots of other things beware.

I end up with a Minsc/Mazzy character--that's the goal. I can go with only two-three characters at that point: My Sorcerer, my Assassin/Fighter, and Jaheria; I'll pick up other NPC's and do their quests as needed.

i read somewhere that an assassin can get up to x7 backstab...if so then that would make the assassin really powerful and not at all weaker than the other 2 kits...plus assassins are cooler

x7 damage???? I hardly believe that. Assassins do additional damage with their use of poison, just like other thiefs they just get the usual 5x damage multiplier.

Yes assasins can do 7X dmg + the poison. And I don't agree that they are the poorest kit. The poorest kit is clearly the swashbuckler. The Bounty Hunter can be very powerful, but only if you use cheesy tacktics.
I mean the 4 most common kits for solong are:
    1. Kensai/Mage
    2. Monk
    3. Sorcere
    4. Assasin

The Monk and Sorcerer are not kits per se.

i think the clerics should definitly be changed to make the kits a bit more interesting.
Wizard slayer in my opinion is useless
the best example of this is the magic resistance. My monk now has 64% resistance and the most a ws can get is 19.
this tells me that the people who made this cocked up.

a further note i would like to add is the immense power of the monk. i played as this guy the first time round and enjoyed immensly. but then i changed to a fighter theif and found out that this was much more of a challenge and far more enjoyable.
i think his powers should be clipped down for TOB

These are the things i think should be changed for more balanced characters

The monks quivering palm should be changed. Maybe it should increase the chance of a critical hit?? Bards should be able to sing their battlesong and fight.(but no spellcast)
Clerics should have their casting time reduced. Wizard slayers would be cooler if they had nishruu like abilities.(this probably wouldn't be very realistic but anyways...) Finally, beastmasters should be able to summon elementals.

Well, I've played a Bounty Hunter (level 22) and I now have an assassin (level 14).. I clearly like my assassin better. The Bounty Hunters best trap (IMO) is the hold one, but since it changes to maze target it's not as useful really, or at least I don't think so.

I have 5 X backstab so far and my highest BS is 94 with the +4 shortsword (I forget name).. Anyway, I think posion is a really amazing tactic, especially with boots of speed. Just run up, backstab with posion, run off screen and let them die.. /shrug, I really like this class so far hehe.
