Here's my current IWD2 party. We just started Chapter Three, and are on Core Rules difficulty, with sections of Weimer's Ease installed. Is this party a good one? Any suggestions?

Lingrin Songe, Neutral Good Male Human Fighter 3/Bard 7 role: fighter and secondary spell caster.

Carolyne Falls, Chaotic Good Female Human Fighter 10 role: fighter and archer.

Arandon Olo, Chaotic Neutral Male Tiefling Fighter 3/Rogue 6 role: stealth fighter.

Redarra Strongheart, True Neutral Female Ghostwise Halfling Barbarian 10 role: fighter.

Unspel Sursur, Lawful Good Male Human Transmuter 10 role: crossbow archer, spellslinger.

Kimos Ilmateri, Lawful Good Male Aasimar Cleric of Ilmater 9 role: healer, slinger, tank w/ mace

    1. Including the names of the caracters is irrelevant and just clutters things up. Post the stats instead!

    2. Your party looks very melee heavy. Too much so for my taste.
I'd consider using clerics instead of fighters. That way you get secondary tanks - clerics fight surprisingly well - and you also get serious spellcasting.

    3. You have no sorcerer!
Single class wizards suffer badly from a lack of scrolls. I think including one Rogue-2/Diviner and one or two sorcerers is good.
    Sorcerer is the best class.

All this being said, there's no reason your party can't finish the game with relative ease without changes. :)

You should have a monk in your party. They are great for scouting and stealth fight. Find an enemy and land a successful stunning attack. Than use power attack 5 (if you have) to beat it to death.
Also you can choose a svirfneblin instead of human for your monk. But then you won't get that extra skill point for both hide and move silently. Also don't forget about the ECL +3. A svirfneblin is hard to level up but you'll get an incredible magekiller and tank with spell resistance, own healing, good saving throws, high AC and VERY special abilities. ;)

Don't pay attention to all the sorcerer love in here, they are great, but wizards are better at high levels, since IWD2 really isn't that barren of scrolls. I was complaining about lack of scrolls but now when I look at my wizard (chapter 6) i would never trade her for a sorcerer (sorcerer1/evokerX). Sorcerers have the advantage to always have all their spells at their disposal (not that many spells though), but in a game where you can quick save and quick load and game-time has no significance (rightfully so, we're already going from being peasants to super-heros in 100 days) it is no problem memorizing spells that you know you'll need.

Make sure you give that rogue/fighter more fighter levels, unless you're shooting for level 10 rogue and not planning on taking this party to HoF.

I completely agree with Trypt about sorcerer vs wizard stuff... I also finished the game with a party including pure wizard. Wizard means versetality. You will never ever end up the day wishing that you had that spell, you thought useless. There are so many battles to be fought and you will need a large variety of spell arsenal.
This way you can use your foes' weaknesses much more effectively.
And this is just my two cents... ;)

I had a single classed Halfling Wizard in my party, and I was never disappointed or finding that I was lacking scrolls from which to scribe spells. Occasionally he'd level up before having and spells available, but it was only a short time before appropriate spells were found. The versatility of the Wizard is extremely useful, I found; being able to completely reconfigure the memorised spells and trade out those no longer useful for more useful spells made things much easier.
Don't be fooled into believing Wizards aren't as good as Sorcerers.

There's always something to dicuss. Some people prefer other characters, and so would I.

You have some rogue abilities in your party.
    You have a cleric.
    You have tanks.
    You have some wizkids.
    ------------ +
    All you need.

    Easy as cake.
    Piece of that.
    ;)

    Edit:
    With Earl Grey:
I'm more interrested in stats. If you have a cleric with 9 wisdom, you had better taken a fighter in stead.

Cleric with 9 WIS?! I think nobody wrote such a thing here. TheBlackRose said his/her cleric is lvl 9, at least that's what I understand.

i would disagree with the wizard lovers. most situations dont require many spells, merely many of the same spell... personally i feel the sorceror has more spells in his inventory than he will ever need

also note: since a sorcerors' prime requisite is charisma, he makes a convenient talker

I agree, sorcerers are better then wizards..
But this is just a matter of opinion.
I just don't like changing my spells all the time.
And it's true that they can speak good.

On the other hand, wizards have INT and can get some thief skills instead.
So it's just up to you.

    cu guys

I didnt say that TBR had a Cleric with 9 wis, but that IF he had a Cleric with 9 wis, he would have done better to choose a fighter instead. ;)Since a cleric with low wisdom is useless.

You can have a nice character-combo but if these chars don't have the right stats/ability-scores, they would be useless. Thats why I asked for the stats

I try to be heavy on the character-specific attribute. For clerics it is wisdom. Wisdom also helps for will saves. Wizards get a double because it's intelligence and can be used for lots of skills too. This is my fourth time through and I'm taking a trusty sorcerer. I know what surprises the game has so I won't waste any spells. Also, I don't think that it makes any sense whatsoever to multi a mage. They are just so much more powerful and have many more spells. Also, remember that the key for a mage to get his spells through is partly and mostly based on his mage level, which is added to the level of the spell and major character attribute (intelligence for wizards and charisma for sorcerers) and the baddie must roll a number higher than this for a save. This works on your own guys too. I have a palidin in my party and he has unlimited dispell magic. Rarely can he dispel the magic on any of my own guys because of these factors.

It's good have a Wizard (act like a loremaster, use identify and defensives biofeedback spells)
and a sorccer (as a bombarder) Why not?

I think your party will do fine. A bit much tanks for my liking (all except for the transmuter) but this has it's advantages, for example that most guys can melee when they are forced to.

I'd give the characters who have 3 levels in fighter one more fighterlevel, so you get them weapon specialisation (3 ranks in a weapon proficiency)

I think you should MC your fighter to a few levels of barbarian for rage, speed and other handy abilities.
