Hi all. Hope you had a safe and happy holiday period. :)

I have been given a new and more effective method by Tal to upload files to SP.

This means it is easier for all and I can actually spend some more time on the files rather than hours on "hotmail".

Anyway I have quite a list of soundsets that are nearly uploaded or completed so hopefully Tal can get around to some more soundsets when the time is right. (Please don't winge or whine at him, because it does take some time to update the site etc. Patience is a virtue...)

If there are any requests from BG1 BG2 or IWD1 of soundsets that involve various NPCs to be used in IWD2 give your ideas or requests and I'll try it. I can't always guarrantee that they will work, because it mostly depends on the amount of spoken content in the games. You may have noticed that I have done the evil villains. That's is not because I prefer evil, they just seem to rant on more in the games than the good guys.

    Anyway, suggestions, ideas, requests below...

    Cheers.

How about the sweet innocent voice of imoen?

Also (I don't think it will be possible) I liked the sound of the cowled wizards :D
You know when you first come out of the dungeon to the surface in BG2. You are engaged by cowled wizards, then Irenicus comes around and kills them all, exept for 2 or so, and they take them with 'em and puts them in prison. The whole dialogue/in-game-movie is really cool. Especcially the voice of the cowled wizards :D
So if that is possible...would be really cool.

    Thanks

Ok, these aren't from BG I & II or IWD, but how about the voices of the South Park characters? I know this may sound like a joke, but I am serious. Especially the voice of Cartmen or Timmy.

I can look into the Cowled Wizards style voices, although it may end up a compilation of voices, and it would not neccessarily be "hot".

Sorry, Elios, apart from loathing "south park", I don't have the hardware that is needed to record that stuff and edit it...

But I love "South Park" too. :hahaerr: Ups I'm :yot:

Soundsets from Diablo II would be nice but I don't think it is doable.

Anakha, now that's a thought! I have a program called GAP, Game Audio Player, from Russia that can play and extract Diablo II sounds. Maybe I could install it and give it a rip, would take some time to do so though...

    Roekemoes.

I just sent by ftp the Imoen soundset. Thank Tal when it comes up on the site. He does the hard work after all..

I would be most happy if you do so. I would love much more my evil barbarian if he cries like Diablo himself. :D

I've got Diablo so I'll look into it.

Recently, my friend made a soundset for Ace Ventura. I categorically state that it is not mine and I would never make such a thing. It is funny though. I sent it to Tal, and so it will be up when he is good and ready.

I really need a microphone. I'm always commenting on the game in voices I imagine with the characters, and some are quite funny...

Ah well, I'll throw that on the list of hardware I want for my new comp :)

    Diablo sounds? Oooohhhh! :spin:

    Kuldaharian.

Own soundsets simply need a microphone and a simple windows program like sound recorder. The only problem will be background "hissing".

    Ancalimon.

Again all that is needed is the above and the LOTR DVD or VCR. One major problem is knowing the films well enough to be able to get appropriate lines for all the files in the soundset. Would take some time I imagine...

Khazraj, dont try with the LOTR soundsets. I attempted it once a while ago and failed miserably. The times where there are actually good and decent dialogue in the film, the music in the background masks the sound too much, and there is always the problem of background noise.

I think you refer to making sound sets from the game, no? If that is what you mean, then you will need ISC (infinity sound converter) and Winbiff. These two programs will extract (winbiff) and then convert into usable sounds (ISC) for making your own soundsets from professional recording jobs.

    Cheers.

Recently sent a soundset based on Lilacor the "intelligent" sword from BG2. It of course does not mention being a sword, but it is fairly similar as far as dialogs go. For those who really liked the sword I guess. I have a good friend who does, but I probably won't use it myself...

Well, Diablo and Lilarcor seem nice ideas to me!

IMO, the game is lacking some chaotic neutral voicepacks for my madmen and lunetics. Just like the one in NWN. (quoting Faragon when facing an Elder Ancient Wyrm/Dragon: FAT LOOT!! :D )

There are some quotes by Jon Irenicus (you have nothing more then a fraction of your soul and somehow you continue to oppose me?) that I like, but they probably seem hard to fit in the things we need for a voicepack.

Not quite Master, it's an elven battlecry: únótimë harma!. Which basically means 'uncountable treasure', which was the closest I could find to 'Fat Loot' :p It was the only way I could fool my GM into allowing it, since he saw through Phát Lút immediately. ;)

    But yeah. FAT LOOT!

    *charges at the dragon*

How much cost microphones nowadays? :)

The Poquelin soundset is not maniacally evil for you. He makes me shiver sometimes. I have also done others, but just wait and they will come.

There is Sarevok, Isair and Irenicus there already. Melissan is on the way and Madae is there too.

    Are they not evil enough?

I recently found all the speech files from the game Arcanum. I want to make a Magnus soundset. Perhaps others will follow soon. Still needs a bit of listening and joining of files...

    @ArrynMorgerim. What is Get Medieval?

I wonder if it is possible to get the NWN soundsets in IWD2? I may have to get NWN yet, but my old dinosaur won't do it...
If it is TV then I can't (won't bother to try) do it.
