The feat Human/Aasimar/thieflings get Snake Blood is it worth a ability points or a waste, i ask this because as you know you can only get this at 1. lvl :) ?

The Human members i have is :

    A paladin Aasimar

    Thiefling Wizard

    Aasimar Sorcerer

    ---------
what race would you recommend (is the best) for a Bard ?

The feat Combat Spell casting should i take that for alle my casters (sorc, bard, wiz, cleric) ?

my Cleric ''Battle Guard of Tempus'' what should be his secondary weapon feat i should choose ?

And last Which Ranged Weapons would you recommend i take, so i dont put all my points on sling and the worst weapon in the game is sling for example :) . Please help!

[IMG] I think that feat isnt worth taking, but thats just me :)

I always use a pure human for the bard and having my "Tempusguard" using a sling.

I've put Taz's questions in Bold. My replies are in normal.

The feat Human/Aasimar/thieflings get Snake Blood is it worth a ability points or a waste, i ask this because as you know you can only get this at 1. lvl ?

Never tried it. I don't feel like I've missed out on something. I mean, it's not even usable in a certain quest.

The Human members i have is :

    A paladin Aasimar =

    Thiefling Wizard =

    Aasimar Sorcerer =

    ---------
what race would you recommend (is the best) for a Bard ?

Aasimar or Drow, because of the Charisma bonus.

The feat Combat Spell casting should i take that for alle my casters (sorc, bard, wiz, cleric)

Yes, definetely. It's worth its cost.

my Cleric ''Battle Guard of Tempus'' what should be his secondary weapon feat i should choose ?

Battleguards get a free weapon prof in Axes. There are plenty of good axes in the game, even throwing axes, so personally I say points in other proficiencies are a waste.

And last Which Ranged Weapons would you recommend i take, so i dont put all my points on sling and the worst waspon in the game is sling dor example . Please help!

Depends on which characters you want to give it to. Spellcasters I'd say Crossbow. Very good ones in the game, and bolts are aplenty. (as are all other types of ammunition by the way) Sling is good too, though I think bolts have more usefull affixes like extra electrical damage etc.

    regards

    Taz

What about Bows, are they any good i think thay where Very good in IWD1 ?

And about ranged weapons, ive heard that it uses the Dex modifier for damage or something like that :S;), so that means Strength should be lovered and dex top if i should get the best out of ranged, or does str have some influence in the damage given with ranged weapons or does it only count with melee weapons ??

PS thanx alot for all Faragon you have helped me alot :D .

and sry about the regard tag didnt remember.

Before I give you any advice, what class are we talking about here? Fighter? Ranger? Spellcaster?

What about Bows, are they any good i think thay where Very good in IWD1 ?

Bows are excellent. For any archer.

And about ranged weapons, ive heard that it uses the Dex modifier for damage or something like that :S;), so that means Strength should be lovered and dex top if i should get the best out of ranged, or does str have some influence in the damage given with ranged weapons or does it only count with melee weapons ??

Strength is the modifier for Melee (though with the Weaponfinesse feat you can use your Dexterity modifier with simpleweapons) and Dexterity for Ranged. As for the balance between Dex and Str, this depends on which class we're talking about...

Your Dexterity modifier is used for your ranged to-hit only, not damage.

Your Strength modifier is used for both melee to-hit and damage. Some bows (in D&D; I'm not sure about IWD2) have a "mighty" attribute which allows some strength damage to your ranged weapon.

It is generally meant, the dex questions. And we are talking about Bows , Crossbows and slings and i had heard that these weapons use Dex modifier and not Strength. But Blackthorne said that dex is for hit and str is for damage, But how much strength do i need IF strength does help :) . And this i primarily for my Spellcasters
    Wizard,sorcerer,Bard and cleric.

Str and Dex help with slings/thrown weapons (hammers/axes). Bows/Xbows, no str modifier at all, only dex.

I gave my battleguard of tempus hammer and axes in feats. It wasn't wasted at all, put it to good use. My battleguard had moderate dex and nice str, he was deadly with the throwing hammer.

IIRC, the strenght-bonus applies to thrown weapons (like throwing axe, darts, throwing daggers etc), slings and melee.

Then what youre saying is if my mages should use Ranged weapons like bows and crossbows STRENGTH doesnt matter at all, and only max out DEX for Hit and Damage ??

Ya, just give mages, sorc bow or xbows.

Personally, I don't max out the dex. I usually give my spellcasters 14 to 16 dex is all. That's just my style though (they're high on cats grace most of the time). I never give them extra feats in bows either, just the one point they begin with. I'm more into making the spells a little more potent.

I usually give me sorc 8 str. (plenty in my opinion). In one of my games I gave her only 6. That worked out ok, but ran into a few annoying problems with it and felt to much like powergaming.

10 is enough though. Many like to give them 12.

Const. I like at least 14. I try to get 16 but don't always manage to do that. I don't like my spells being disrupted.

    Edit:
Here's my favorite sorc so far.

    Syd the Tyrant (party leader)
    Human Sorc
    Str 8
    Dex 12
    Con 14
    Int 14
    wis 10
    char 18

Starting Feats: combat casting, spell focus evocation ~ more spell focusing, spirit of the flame feats as the game progressed so on.

    So far, so fun.

I gotta ask you the same question? Currently I am playing the game with three characters and my sorcerer is definetely Aassimar, because of his big stats on Charisma... It's not very easy gaining levels, 'coz for two gained levels by the sorcerer my Cleric/Fighter and Fighter/Rogue had gained 4... But although the game is quite pleasent...

As fo the stats - I lowered the Wisdom and Strength, maximised the Intelligence, Dexterity, Charisma and Constitution...
Something like that, not definetely right, 'coz I don't have the character right to me:
    • Strength: 5
    • Dexterity: 18
    • Constitution: 18
    • Intelligence: 18
    • Wisdom: 5
    • Charisma: 20

I guess that's powergaming for you, but I would really dislike a sorcerer who couldn't even carry his own robes, or the 'burden' of a couple of scrolls. Let alone the stuff he has to identify.

And of course the first monster trying a charm spell or fear spell will get your sorcerer under control due to his low WIS.

The high Dex and Int aren't needed. He's not a rogue/ranger, nor a wizard. Throw those points back to STR and WIS to get them up to at least 8. You will hit people with a crossbow, even with 10 DEX.

Ye have a point... :) ... I guess I'll just get Dale 2 Keeper and I'll modify his stats as you told me... OK, I'll make it with Dex, Int 15, but I'll keep my constitution highest possible...

Faragon Dex should be high if he is gonna use bows, crossbows because DEX controls Damage and hit :) or am i incorrect ?

Yes. Like said above Dex only influences Attack-roles, not damage.
And Str influences only some ranged weapons: Thrown weapons and (iirc) slings.
So for bows and crossbows, you would only need Dex.
For other ranged weapons, you first need Dex, Str is second.

    Imagine this:
You wield a crossbow and you have great Dex. You are sure to hit. But would strength make a difference? Does pulling the trigger with 6 Str be different then pulling a trigger with 24 Str?
    I guess not. ;)
