Dwarve, Duerger. I have always LOVED the dwarven reace, back from the days of LoTR. Gimli ect. struck me as the clone of my unlce. Short and beardy. I love my uncle. The runner up would have to be the deep gnome. I love the gnome race in general, but their abilities make them extra good.

I like humans due to the extra feat at 1st level and the bonus skill points regardless of INT.

From a role playing point of view I love dwarves, perhaps because I am one, just slightly stretched?
Gimli is my hero, and so is Thorin Oakenshield.

In IWD2 I really liked Gerbash and Barud Barzam. And I really felt guilty killing them...

 

Guilty, or extremrly satisfied that you nailed those sloots? They deserved it, down to every slash.

Humans are pretty good, but still one extra feat just doesnt cut it for me. The humans in all the ADnD games are SO biased, it makes me sick!

The wild elves are pretty good, but the ultimate Uber race is the drow. If you have ever played the ADnD module City of the Drow, you will know what i mean.

All halflings are the best, cause they're dexterous, cute, in LOTR they save the world and they have good bonuses

 

I thought that it was Hobbits, but perhaps I am wrong....

(Yes I know that the Uruk Hai called Merry and Pippin halflings, but DND halflings have never been hobbits in my mind).

hobbits is patent of Tolkien so unless wizard of coast or tsr buy the copyright or else they cannot use it.

personally, i like the half-elf for male and elf for female because i like archery (?). beside elves always have the best chicks in the world.

 

Not true. Look at Japan. More specificly look at any site that include the words Asian and Naughty.

Anyway, the humans arent too bad, but ive always liked the vanilla human over the spiced up choc chip ones.

Favourite race : Shield Dwarf(just think of Gimli or Bruenor )
Runner up: Half elf (They get the best of both worlds, unless they are half Drow)

 

c'mooon what usefull do you find in half-elf?Previous i loved them but now they suck....
human and aasimar are my favorites - int 3.... Not the feat but the extra skill point\level roxx

 

Yeah, I agree that the rules are biased towards the human race. However, some of the other classes do have some really good attributes for other classes. Like all the rouges that I have played so far are Halflings (Lightfoot), and all the sorcerers are Wild Elves. However, I wished that Wild Elves had druid included in their favored class. I mean, if they are so wild, then wouldn't they be more nature inclined too?

 

Wild elves druids - something like neutral wild Kill the f@#$@#n human that makes that campfire it's dangerous for the wood hahahahah Druids with barbarian rage as bonus

 

Actually my half orc druid can rage with that barbarian level I just gave her... she's bad (name's Dagra, real cute).

Favorite race would from a roleplaying POV be humans simply due to their variation, or Dwarves due to their general coolness or halflings for likewise. Gnomes are cool as well. I dont like elves for various reasons, though Wild Elves are cool.

Favorite race from a technical perspective would also be humans (skillpoint and feat), dwarves (bada$$ saves, con bonus etc.) and halflings (perfect rogues). Elves get great bonuses as well for not being an ECL race. Worst races would be half elf and half orc... I'm still not sure if aasimar and tieflings are worth a +1 level, so I'm testing it out now with one of each in my IWD party and a tiefling in my tabletop party that I DM for.

For me half elves are totally pointless. They have the human favoured class, but look dumb, and they don't get the extra feat or skill points, while elves get bows and swords for free, immunity to sleep spells...

Half elves are a joke in IWD2 compared to IWD1 and 2E rules.

 

I just love those Drow... hmmm.. <remembering Viconia...> Umph! What an apetite!

 

Unless you have a good reason, you should be human. That being said, the aasimar Pal2/SorX rocks... the tiefling Rog3/WizX rocks (20int & 20dex) For some reason I have a soft spot for the lightfoot 1/2lng rogue/druid. Also the 1/2orc Cleric with 1int and 1cha is amazing... give it the male ftr sounds (3?) that just grunt

 

I've been soloin with a human barbarian, and he's doing great....

But I've only had the game for a couple for days...

Strongheart Halfling, followed by pure Halfling - and I would have voted for Ghostwise Halfling too had I just had a third chance to vote Anyone surprised?

Deep Gnome, Aasimar, Halforc and Gold Dwarf are great too btw
