For I aquired BG-1 AND BG-2 honorably I never needed to try that :D but I remember a tool named DEAMON that could perhaps solve your problem. Unfortunately I don´t know where to find it :(

The easiest way to to that is to use one of the following programs:
    1) Virtual CD (1 or 2)
    2) Virtual Drive 2000.
What they do is add a second virtual CD-ROM to you computer. What you need to do, is make a special container file for each BG2 CD and put them on your hard drive.
If you wish, drop me an e-mail at eug_morozov@yahoo.com and I will reply and mail you the install of the Virtual Drive. It has a decent readme.txt so you would be able to figure out how it works by yourself.

BTW: I play BG2 fair and square from a full install. Just feel I can help the fellow, so no flames please.

im not sure thats the easiest way...

i bought one copy of bg2, but i wanted to play multiplayer on my home LAN. so i just used the no-cd patch you can download from here:
    http://www.maxtarget.com/games/pc_baldurs_gate_2.shtml

    very very easy.

you did pay for the game, right? :p

[IMG] I doubt very much that anyone asking for a no-cd patch would actually buy the game. You'd need a very good reason to want it. If you have the game, what difference does it make if you just leave CD1 in the drive all the time?

So please refrain yourself from asking for things like that in the future, unless you have a really good reason for it.

    narrow minded.

    (no offence intended)
I did the same thing with Sanitarium and... uh..I forget.. maybe the first Unreal? Crystal Keep?

They both ran much faster (fps) than straight of the disc.

When u assume, you make an.....

I use VirtualCD (about 50 Euro) for ALL software which checks for cd present. Works for most things includeing BG1+2. Doesn't work for a encyclopedia wich I bought as a DVD, so that might be the reason.
I have so many programs installed, so that without VirtualCD I would end up playing diskjockey like in bad old DOS-time (the expansion 'denial of service' is very fitting btw, cause DOS probably did more damage than all hackers united).

[IMG] If you make a full install (as he said he did) you don't need the first CD for anything but a 5 second click as it takes for the game to check if the CD1 is in the drive.
In that case, the game doesn't load off the CD.

So now that we've beat that remark to the ground, any other good reasons beside the one Silroth listed?
