I remember something wierd like that when playing the demo once. During the quest to destroy the steam engine Virgil broke his staff and resorted to pounding on the machine with his bare hands. Needless to saw he kept passing out due to fatigue. After we finally managed to destroy the engine, I noticed that Virgil had a reaction of -1000....I guess he didn't like that quest.

[IMG] When can I get Sogg to join me, every time I ask he just says "I don't think it is time for me to join you just yet"

And yes Virgil really bugs me, always the first to die....:flaming:

You need Charisma 9 for Sogg to join.

alright i have a new question (yea!)

im in tulla (all u newbs dont listen to this) and i did it the good way this time (not killing every1 in stillwater). and i talked to the big diviner afetr looking at the picture. he says talk to some idiot in a pool . so i wait til night and i see em pop up but i cant figure out how to get his attention. i notice the symbols on the gournd change when i walk on em. does that have anything to do with my quest?

  5. Yep, you do have to step on those thingamajigs on the ground. Without spoiling too much, just go inside the main building and look at the mural on the wall. Look closely and you shall see.

Just a quick spam - it is irrelevant if it is night or not. Just follow right sequences to get more clues for major one around the fountain.

With regards to the Ore Golem posts.... I tried hammers and axes on them and they all get damaged and eventually break. Does anyone know for sure what weapons can harm Ore Golems without them breaking?

fire arms lol basically i suggest spend some cash and buy some cheap maces or wepons from tarant and use those to attafck the golems if not go to ashbury become a gun man pick up some firearms and use firearms in real-time (they walk slow run fire run some more strategy) sogg is real effective here w/ virgil (tho is fatigue can run out pretty fast) i have seen my men in a couple cases not lose durability w/ certain weps and i think that the hammer from the room w/ the machined guants might not lose dura but maybe jus on certain golems im not sure i finish this area so quichly i forgot (there arer better places to be) in fact playin a solo theif i cheated (usin a trainer) and used ogre chap to do all my killing (then uncheated after)

  9. Well, the way to kill those golems or anything else that damages your weapons is by summoning oter monsters to fight for you.
IIRC in my game their weapons never broke.
Summon the ogre thingie and you're all set.

As for tech characters, you've no choice but to use firearms or bombs, any other ways would result in melee combat which would damage your weapons.

Watch out for fire elementals too, they damage your armour.

NoYur_Role, the staff of hyprocracy almost never gets damaged. forgot where i got it though, and its kinda weak and provides random shield of protection (that means your enemies might get it too).
A better weapon is the iron clan hammer. But you probably won't get it till much later. I heard its indestructible but i dunno, i was way too comfortable with my tech pyro axe.
The way i got through was with 3 fine broadswords i bought (keep them in the quickslots to free inventory space). Whack whack repair (i've got 1 level) whack break throw whack whack repeat.

[IMG] To answer this thingy about weapons breaking on Ore Golems: Weapons and Armor with an arcane enchantment are almost indestructable as far as I remember. So you can keep one of these in your backpack for those golems. As mentioned above, repair skill works wonders, and you won't be needing lockpick skills either, because you can repair the weapons you broke upon all those chests and doors you bashed open.

I played a mechanized "beastmaster" once, with 5 Automatons running around me. I needed no other partymembers, they ripped everything apart, including those Ore golems. I had put some points in repair to repair my Automatons, but I noticed there was a bug that resetted their level to 30 and their hit points to 300/300 every time you picked them up and dropped them again. That was so cheesy I decided to use the repair skill anyway

I have a little question too: Some dude on the Terra-Arcanum forums extracted all the schematics from the game code somehow. There was an Automaton-Gunner amongst it. Where the hell is that schematic, I was never able to find it, and they had no idea either. Maybe they left it out of the final game, but kept some traces in the final game code? It sure as hell "sounds" very powerfull

  12. I too have a question.
Is there any way for a technologist to make automobiles or something? I mean, magickal players has the teleportation spell.

Igneous: there are many items and schematics and other such stuff in-built into the game code. But when they finally released Arcanum, they left out some of these due to balance purporses or whatever. They are still in the code, but are not in the game. thats what i heard anyway.

check you've now been featured on the "i know you hate me list" heh thank you very much, but dont bother answering me i fiugred it out myself kill everyone in the game and the repair master (the guy caladon has one) or at least i schematic and one of the guards in front of the orc factory in tarant has one, however you'd have to kill them all to get it which is difficult when your reputation isnt as bad as a fighter/dodge only orge that cant use guns.

I thought this is ann Arcanum topic, not an we hate "Inappropriate Synonym" one. Of course we allways can do such a one... About Arcanum: I think that the third part of the game (after you found the Nashrudin) is a little boring. What do you think?
