Just tell me what do you think about this tactic. In every room with a door, have your thief scouting hidden in shadows, then, from a distance try gas spells (stinking, kill or incendiary clouds, deadly mists, meteor storm) so that the monsters inside cannot see the party. Do that and then close the door with your thief and watch them die! improve the tactic placing a few snares in front of the door!

It's up to you if you wants to use tactics like that. In my point of wiev it's just boring. If a battle is to hard for you try instead to lower the difficulty level a snap or two.

There are dossens of cheesy tactics for allmost every situation in the game. Since they're all implented in the game they can't be called cheating of any kind. But how much of the game do you actually miss by doing it?

Fight fair by equal rules for you and the NPC to get the most out of it.

Well, was only an idea. I've literally fought my way throught BG2 and TOB using wits, spells, melee combat and strategy. I just wanted to try something different, I meant to use this tactis to clean out rooms full of creatures not worth the time fighting, if you know what I mean. In fact, I've known people who have almost finished the entire game with bolts and arrows! boring? I think it depends where and when you use the tactic.

It's known as 'cheese' since an intelligent opponent would register that he's breathing in toxic gasses and try to leave the vicinity as soon as possible.

Sure, its 'smart' but it's an abusive kind of smart.

Why is your theif there? Just shoot a cloud kill off into the screen. Every fight in chapter 2 thats hard can be won this way however except for kangaxx and the shade lord. And maybe a few others. My point is this is an easy way to win the game, but its boring as hell. And dont use spells if you plan to do this, just keep a charged wand of cloud kill and you'll own the game. Wont be fun though.
