As I heard that the style was Fallout + magic, I bought it without thinking twice. My bad.

It's ugly, it's slow to advance, it has damn annoying music. It doesn't have any of the nice little fun stuff Fallout did. It's stats and character development system sucks. Every time you play it, it feels the same. And oh, did I mention the musics REALLY suck? Yes well they do. Also there are 1-2 parts on the story where you have no idea what you're supposed to do to get the game system realize that you CAN now finally get forward.

And it's too much walking in boring hallways and caves, beating your sword broken on too many enemies.

    And the music sucks btw.

Well, personally, I liked it. Granted the graphics are, well, pretty much terrible, and the weapons break ENTIRELY too often, but it has a well done, if cliched, plot. The whole magic vs. technology concept was nicely done. It really required you to put some thought into party construction. As I said I liked it, and I would probably recomend it to someone.

It rocks and there are no things Forashi mentioned in it.
If you liked Fallout and Planescape:Torment, it's your next choice.

Kam, next time add a few points into a weapon you plan to use and do improve repair skill. So what if it ruins a few magick points on a scale! You'll save money and items. ;)

I had tried that, but after a while decided that it was easier and more effective to just carry a few spare weapons whenever going to an area with "hard" enemies, like rock golems or whatever.

Hey, that's RPG, right? You have different roles to take, it's on you to decide what serves you best. ;)

arcanum is a good game. granted, the inteface takes up a third of the screen, but the game is really open ended.

    note: the elephant gun rulez.

the music is great IMO, except the battle music, but then, I love classical music.

the graphics are stinky, but the little mechanics in game are wonderful, you'll find yourself spending hours trying to find compononents to create items, speaking of it, you can develop hundreds of different characters since it has no classes, lots of sidequest, and hell lots of NPCs.
