I think that each saga is a very good one, they're just different from each other ...

Baldur's Gate definetely. Storywise IceWindDale is nothing compared to it. I've said it before: If only BG2 had been in 3rd edition, I'd have the ultimate CRPG.

Personaly i think Icewind Dale is the best serie and that is because of one mayor difference. You make your entire own party. If they made a game where they cooked BG and IWD in to one mayor roleplaying game under a new name it would be the best game on the PC EVER!!!

[IMG] The Icewind Dale serie. Miss the NPC's but much better story. And a lot hack 'n slash. But BG is great, too.

I like IWD2 like many other people because you can create your whole party or go it with one char, but i like BG2 best because you can do the story in a good way or an evil one with the vamps.

Hey guys no offense but you don't seem to know excactly what you are talking about! You CAN play with a party entirely created by you in Baldurs Gate. All you have to do is start a multiplayer game and play it like a single player game. !!! And Baldurs Gate is definately the better series, although IWD is pretty fun and good to.

baldurs gate series is my pick. I can't even be bothered to play past the fight with sheringal in IWD2 (haven't played #1). Maybe I shouldn't be so one sided though - so I might buy it :D

Imo, IWD doesn't come anywhere near BG.

    I chose the BG series...
Much better storyline... and better roleplay...
The IWD series is mostly hack & slash...
    (IWD2 especially)

Yup, IWD saga is a 100 houred hack&slash... BG saga is 250 houred dialogues, hack&slash, quests, romances and more... They just are diffirent... But I have a sentimental love for Icewind Dale especially the first one... I surely loved BG 1 after i passed it and it surely is a great game...

IWD will always be in my heart, maybe because that was the first D&D game I played... And maybe the first in which I had difficulty in makin chrs... I first tried with four Paladins - I was killed in Dragon Eye for good - and then with only to - Dwarven Fighter and Halflngish Fighter/Thief...

IWD is good, but in my opinion, BG is just better.

IWD is a very good game, but BG is a better game, handsdown.

    They're both great games.

I like the mood of the original Icewind Dale, though. Harsh tundra in this heavy, foreboding atmosphere - awesome place to start an adventure. It captivated me like no other game has.

Currently playing BG2, but so far IWD still has my vote. :)
