Apeman - that adventure is as 'serious' as it gets. In fact, it is the only game that made me feel miserable, and although I did want to play and finish it, I had to take a one-day break because of one incident well into the game.

Sparhawk - think more along the lines of 'fantasy.'

 

I hope it is not The Longest Journey. I have heard many say that they liked the game but personally I found the game to be just plain bad.

Hint #5: This game allows a huge selection of dialogue options, many of which will not be used in the course of the first playthrough. There is often simply no point to ask a question. This dialogue option would probably not be seen by by most players since they wouldn't choose the option that prompts it.

Well I think I'm out of this but I'll throw one more guess to the basket. It would not be one of the Myst games? The Myst games series is one series of adventuregames I've never played and probably never will play.

 

I'd say time for a real clue. These hints just dont cut it. How about giving us the company that made it or something because I feel an IJ coming on.

I will not post the name of the company yet. It has been prolific, but the game you are guessing is sorta an oddball for them.
