[IMG] If I have place post in the wrong topic i appologies

I recently purchased a 1024 sound blaster and now I cannot enjoy Baldurs Gate to full effect. the music is playing without any problems but the voices are missing. does any one know how to set the EAX up to allow me to enjoy the game once again.
ie patches, downloads or setting to enter in to the comp?

[IMG] Practically all sound options can be configured inside the game in the Game Options/Sound (or something to that effect). Maybe you have SFX turned off... That would explain it. Also try going without EAX first. It usually causes more trouble than it's worth. Finally, download the latest drivers for your soundblaster and install them.

Err, is this BG1 or BG2 we're talking about? You just wrote Baldur's Gate in your post... Not that it makes much difference, the tip is valid for both.

the problem is with BG2. so far i have downloaded the latest drivers, check the configuration in the game all options are turned on, contacted Creative to see if there is a spacific driver to run BG2 (no responce as yet) so the last chance is to turn EAX off. Thanks for your suggestions.

Just in case you are still struggling. I seem to remember that I used to get this problem sometimes and that it was cured by turning off a virus checker running in the background. Worth a try.

    [IMG] thanks for your suggestions

I have finnaly given up on my new sound card(sound blaster live) and resorted back to my old card(Sound Blaster pci128).

I think i traced the problem to to my mother board. I will be upgrading my board + processor next month, so I will try it out then.

ps i have purchaced Tomb of Bhaal and the fault was the same in that.

there are no conflicts with the old card.

thanks again for your comments and suggestions.
