Evil: Thief PC, Viconia, Edwin, Korgan (easy, huh :) )

Good: IMO Aerie, Imoen, Keldorn, Fighter or Sorcerer PC are the best choice.

Or you could just make 4 PC that suit your style, you won't get to listen to their banter this way though.

Nice idea, Caleb. Mind you, why the Wizard Slayer? Haer'Dalis is good enough at taking down enemy wizards (high level). Unless your just going for a tank PC that isn't boring.
What weapons on the WS? Dual Wield Katanas and Scimitars (CFury in mainhand, Belm in offhand), with shortbow (Tuigan) as a ranged weapon?

I'd be similar to poster Will on the evil side, leaving it as he had it:
PC Fighter/Thief, Korgan, Viconia and Edwin.

For the good, I'd change a little, how about
    PC Monk, Keldorn, Aerie, Jan.

Of course there is also the party of the vertically challenged:
PC Dwarven Fighter, Mazzy, Aerie, Jan.
Then you're kneecaps are indeed mine.

As for the whiniest party, maybe:
Aerie, Anomen, Nalia, with Edwin a close fourth.

Geoff, you asked why to be a wizard-slayer and I will layeth the whoop-ass on you for it. ;)

Because the class is the only one who gets 10% culmulative spell failure on hit, piercing through all kinds of protection. I have yet to see one protection that stops this, not stoneskin, not improved mantle, not anything.
Because he gets magic resistance, which isn't too much, only 38% at the highest level, but with some items, it can be useful.

The weapons to use is the Celestial Fury, one handed style, but have a shield ready, or to be more precise, have the Shield of Balduran ready, for those pesky beholders. Use Vhailor's helmet to get TWO Wizard-Slayers per day. The armor, well, it depends on your style of playing, but I would recommend the Red Dragon armor. Been a while, so I can't recall one.

Don't forget to equip the boots of speed so you have time to run and hack 'n slash those mages before their protections come up properly.

Yes, I know the wonderful powers of the Wizard Slayer.
The reason I was questioning it was because that party might be a tad tank-light: Wizard Slayers will have a bit higher AC. They are still good, but will require more healing / buffs than a normal fighter. Viconia will have a great AC, but can't really dish out much damage. And Haer-Dalis is just a mini-fighter (not as good thaco, damage, or AC [except with spins, though those are limited]).
Given that you've already got Haer'Dalis to take down mages, I would think that a Wizard Slayer is not needed as much and would serve as a better tank if he were a normal fighter.

Thanks for the advice guys. Here is what i settled with.

My PC is a kensai, which I intend to dual to a mage at 13th level. In early game I picked up anomen, then picked up nalia and I just finished Nalia's quest and got the keep (my characters name is Miguel, my middle name, so Lord Miguel looked pimp) I intend to dump Nalia for Jan till I get Imoen back, heck I might keep Jan anyways if hes as funny to have around as I suppose he is, and for my last spot Keldorn, mainly for his ability to dish out damage and his dispel innate. With my last group I only played the game till chapter 6, I have not read any detailed walk throughs. Though when I finish an area I read a mild one I downloaded to make sure I didnt miss anything important. I have read the NPC info that this web site provides.

So hopefully this group will be a bit more of a challenge then my last 6 man group. I am hoping this group will level faster, but make me reload the game more. I am playing on core rules btw, but might up it with the smaller group handicap is overcome and I am still breezing threw the game

Well anyway enough rambling, thanks guys and happy hunting

Hey everyone, I've been thinking of starting a four man party aswell, could you guys have a look and tell me what you think?

    PC: Bard-Skald/Blade(, help here)

    NPC's: Keldorn
    Aerie
    Jan(?, help here)

    Thanks in advance.

Take a Blade over a Skald. Your party is under-tanked as it is.
Jan would be a good choice. Probably better than Nalia / Imoen because he can ultimately do any of the thief skills well.
Mind you, having three magical spell casters is a bit much, especially for a four man group.
I would suggest dropping Aerie for Jaheira or Anomen. That way, you still have your divine magic, but you've dropped the mage aspect for a fighting aspect, which is direly needed.
Take either one, it depends on whether you want cleric spells or druid spells. Clerics are much better at fighting vampires and undead, though druids are powerful fighters (iron skins), great mage killers (insect plague) and have great summons (conjure fire elemental). Personally, I'd take Jaheira.

PC Blade - Dual wield - Katanas and Long Swords - Short Bow
Keldorn - Two handed weapon style - Two Handed Sword - Crossbow
Jaheira - Sword and Shield Style - Scimitar / Club and Shield - Sling
Jan - Single Weapon Style - Short Sword / Dagger - Crossbow

    Some options:

    Blade:
    Celestial Fury
Dak'kon Zerth's Blade (can Blades use these? Or just F/M's?)
    Gesen's Bow
The Best Elven Chain Mail You Can Get. The best is found in Suldanessalar, I believe.

    Keldorn:
    The Holy Avenger +5
    Light Crossbow of Speed
    -or-
Giant Hare Crossbow (or whatever large, intimidating crossbow you can find. I'm not sure if that's the biggest one)
    Red Dragon Armour

    Jaheira:
    Belm +2 (extra attack)
    Blackblood (club) +3
    Staff of the Woodlands
    Full Plate Mail

    Jan:
    (Apart from his equipment)
    Short Sword of Backstabbing +3
    -or-
    Kundane +2 (extra attack)
Light Crossbow of Speed (I'm not sure if you can fire Flasher Master Bruiser Mates with this, though)
    Boneblade +4 (dagger)

Conclusion: You've got plenty of options. Just start going through the game and give your guys the best weapons that they are skilled with that you can find.
