[IMG] I liked Dan McGirt's Jason Cosmo (Dirty Work), and I'm looking to find other similar fantasy novels. In terms of action and humour. Suggestions are welcome. Also (I know I'll find this on the net but I'll ask away anyways), how hard is it to get your hands on the 2 first parts of the Jason Cosmo trilogy?

However, I'm more interested in the following types:
Are there any R.A.Salvatore (Dark Elf Trilogy) / Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman (Dragonlance Chronicles) styled novels out there with a lone, appealing mage as the protagonist. With the similar style I mean the story is good, but with plenty of Salvatorian action as well. Not the boring type as for example LoTR (just don't like the style, though it is a classic). I'm sceptical about novels more than a decade or 2 old, so preferably newer than that.

Then I'd want some info on Elminster books. Where to begin from. What it handles. How much of Elminsters' history is revealed etc. That's a guy famous everywhere but to my embarrasment I have to admit I know almost nothing about him.

Btw. Any touching stories of female elven mages out there?

Info on prices, availability, plot, how many etc would be appreciated.

[IMG] Ok, step 1. Go to http://www.sorcerers.net/Books/index.php

Bookmark it. Make sure to buy books by clicking on the links there. I get a small commission for it and I need every cent I can get to keep this site up & running. It doesn't cost you anything more but it helps me a lot. And you also get a custom avatar for it. ;)

Now, you've got all FR & Dragonlance novels (and more) that are not out of print listed there, available from 3 Amazon stores. All the novels on all pages are listed in order, from first to last.

As for the lone mage-hero type of books... You couldn't do better than the Elminster series. (Well, you could, but you wouldn't know anything more about the most famous mage of the Realms. :D)

Go to http://www.sorcerers.net/Books/index_fr.php and scroll till you hit the Elminster Series. The books are, as always, listed in order.

Hi, if you're interested in a book based around a mage, with good story and plenty of action, try 'Magician'by Raymond E. Feist', i can highly recommend this book, and the two that follow it, and any of his others.
