Just remembered that the original "Peter Pan" was a really good book too. Thus it's shared first and second place.

 

Dune series. The whole of it.

 

It's a draw between four "books."

Das Kapital by Karl Marx
the holy Bible by a lot of people
Stupid White Men by Michael Moore
the Serpentwar Saga by Raymond E. Feist

Sure, the SS is not one book, but six, but they are all so short so I consider them one.

Das Kapital is only the first, I have not read the second nor third by Engels.

The Bible really isn't one book, but here I consider it to be one.

And of course, SWM will always be in the repertoire. Great book, great writer.

 

It's got to be Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt for me.

It was a close call between that and Trainspotting by Irvine Welsh but seeing the film before reading it spoilt the book for me for me.

 

i would have to say either wheel of time or a song of ice and fire.

 

I can't decide.LoTR or Silmarillion

 

Still to this day Dragon Lance chronicles trilogy has to be my favorite

 

This 2 books:

Lord of the rings (Complete with The Hobbit and all the other "extra" stuff)

And Alice in wonderland and Through the looking glass.

Mine is still Salvatore's 'Homeland'. It was awesome.

 

I really enjoyed The Lone Drow, it's high up there. But I've so many books over the years it's really hard to remember.

 

Off the top of my head, possibly the Amber books by Roger Zelazny. They're tight, fast-paced, and strange. It was also (I think) the inspiration for Torment.

Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein was good, too (and so much better than the film).

 

Homeland by R. A. Salvatore

 

Hmm. This is tough.

I'd have to say the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin.

For second place:
Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth series, specifically "Faith of the Fallen."

 

Hmm... I just finished "Jonathan Livingstone the Seagull" by Richard Bach. I can't decide if this is my favorite book or "Illsuions - The adventures of a reluctant Messiah" (again by Richard Bach... it's the book I mention in my previous post).

3- A People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn.

 

too damn many favorites come to mind, but i think the mosr memorable ones are:
A game of universe by Eric S Nylund and
Shogun by James Clavell. Universe was good because it was so imaginative but shogun was freaking amazing. The characters were so well fleshed out that one night (while i was in the process of reading it) I got totally drunk and went schizo thinking i was one of the characters. Hehe. Awesome book.

 

The first book of Douglas Adams' Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Trilogy.
